Yes, the little things make me happy! LOL :rotfl: Finally hit the 24 hour mark for our first trip to Disney. I was sitting at the Southwest site well before the time, just to be prepared. :surfweb: I had multiple windows open since I had our tickets on 2 different confirmation numbers. Clicked right when the clock changed to 7:15 (after an unsuccessful try at 7:14) and got us some A passes. Woohoo! :woohoo: Must've been plenty of other people excited to go as well though, I got #22,23,28 and 29.

Hopefully people won't be so jolly on the spot on the return trip...I have someone from home checking us in for our flight back. I doubt she will be as obsessed about watching the clock as I was. heehee

Now to put the last few things in our carry on and try to sleep tonight!

Good for you - just last month was the first time I was able to do online checkin too. I travel a lot too. My last name always gets flagged so I was very pleased to check in online. EVERYTHING goes by so much easier too.

could someone please explain what A passes are? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but we just booked a ding fare for June and I am interested in the process. Does it put you in first class? thanks in advance for any info!!!

Southwest doesn't have first class. Southwest doesn't even have assigned seats. It sounds like you can board first (A first B second, etc.). You still need to get there early and at least stand in line to insure you will seat with your party.

A B C passes are the order in which you book! If you have an A pass you are in the first line to board if you are a B pass you are in the 2nd line to board if you have a c pass you are in the 3rd line to board! Which is why they refer to southwest as the cattle call! If you get an A basically you are gauranteed seating together! Since you are not assinged seats on southwest! I loved it I got an A on the outgoing and incoming last year! If you have children under 5 there is a special line you stand in you get to board before the a passes or people with handicaps also go there .So the families with children under 5 and the handicaps are the only ones who get to board befoore A Passes. I hope this helps you! We are flying Spirit this year it is closer to home and we got a good deal! :)

We have 6:30 am flight. So I can check in online at 6:30 am the day before? Yikes- I didn't think about us not getting to sit together. This is good to know!
:dance3:

This is nice to hear. We are flying Southwest for the first time this month so I am preparing for my seat strategy also!:goodvibes

As long as you go online right around the 24hr mark not before of course! And do it then and there you will not have any problems. We got A's on our way and on the way home, we had the conceirge desk do it for us and also got A's! So as long as you watch the time you will be fine! Remember if you have a child 5 or under you also get to preboard with southwest. Which then you are gauranteed a great seat and definitely all together! You're immediate family get to pre-board with you! The only complaint I have with southwest and it's a mini one is that when people pre-board they split up there family across a row because they have friends or other family coming with them who are either not pre-boarders or A PASSES. And who wants to sit in the middle of someone if it's not the last seat? Southwest allows it so that was my only complaint other than that I was very happy for only paying $852.00 for 5 rountrip tickets and if thats my only complaint then I'll keep flying Southwest when I get another awesome deal like that! And hopefully soon they will crack down on that! Because rightfully it's not fair! But other than this it was a very fun trip on the way our one steward sang a song at the end the kids loved it! The way back they were very nice also but not fun like on the way! Have a great flight when you go! We leave in 10 days we are flying Spirit we got a good deal and ACY is only maybe 45 minutes from here it would be apprx 1 1/2 hrs to PHL thats the only reason! We may plan another trip this year if they do free dining or we may purchase DVC like my parents and we will probably fly southwest unless spirit is offering a great deal again! :thumbsup2
