I started a PTR but wanted to share it here too since we will be staying at FORT. I hope this is ok.

Hi Everyone!!

This is my very first PTR so Im new at this and may have a few questions as we go along the way. First let me introduce my family.

Im Lori (29) and in September I will be married to my awesome DH (32) for 10 years!!! We have two great kids...DS 8 and DD 5

My DH and I have been to WDW when we were kids but this will be the first time we are going together and the first time for our kids going. So this is gonna be awesome for us.

We will be leaving from Wisconsin on Sept 1st and since we are a camping kind of family we will be pulling our camper all the way to WDW!! We will arrive sometime on the 2nd and check in then. We are staying at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds until the morning of the 8th to head back to Wisconsin.

I hope that this works for a start of a PRT. I will keep adding to this and hope to meet some great new people here!

Here is our set up. We started tent camping 2004 Needless to say...we are not tent people. We upgraded to a popup camper in 2007 to see if we were serious about camping and. We loved it!!! But it never failed ever time we camped...anywhere it rained!! And when I say every time I mean it. After a year we relized that we really loved camping and couldn't spend another night listening to popcorn rain noise we upgraded!!! We were looking at a used one but we coudln't turn down the deal of a new one. In 2008 we got this 2009 Summerland. We LOVE it. We camped more times in the first year we had it then we did since 2004!! We were hooked!!

We have camped all over Wisconsin and have camped in Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Tennessee. So when we started talking about Disney it was the only option for us!!! Our friends and family think we are crazy for wanting to drive to Florida and camp for 10 days in total but we LOVE the idea of it!!!

"Popcorn Rain" :rotfl2: too funny...we have a popup and know that sound well! :rotfl2: Only difference is we like it! :goodvibes. Enjoying the ptr! You'll love camping at the fort!

Is Paco going with you to the Fort? We take our pups with us and they love the dog park (although I tend to get a little nervous when there are BIG dogs in the park). You will LOVE LOVE LOVE the Fort. Best hint I can give is take bicycles for everyone as the fort is a great place to ride in.

Thanks for following me everyone!!!:banana: Its great to hear your questions and thoughts.

Is Paco going with you to the Fort?

We want to bring Paco he LOVES camping...but likes to bark and we dont want to ruin anyones trip to Disney so he will be staying with Grandma.

LOL....At the time our DD was 8 months old and it didnt work very well at putting her to sleep. There was one night where she wouldn't sleep at all! That helped with the move.

When I went to Disney when I was a kid we also stayed at Fort but in a Cabin with my parents. We loved it and I can't wait to share the FORT with our kids!!!:lovestruc

Welcome! Looking forward to your reports. I'm positive you will enjoy Ft Wilderness! We do, Started camping there in the Trailers( they are now the cabins) and we loved it then as well as now) Since then our children have grown and we now all go down in MotorHomes!! Still love it. Nothing like the fort!:):)

We've towed a pop up from Illinois to FtW many times. You'll drive through some very pretty areas.

"Popcorn rain" :rotfl: DS and I sleep like the dead so it was never an issue with us. DH learned to sleep with ear plugs. :goodvibes

We went to South Carolina once and the Mountains are beautiful!! I can't wait to have a picnic lunch at one of the waysides in the mountains!

We are a hour north of you near Lake Geneva so if I need driving routes I know who to ask!!

So I've been doing more looking into things that Disney has to offer and all of the information Im getting here on the DIS boards. Its official...Im addicted to DIS boards. LOL

I've been trying to figure out what days to do when and where. I know that I have 4 months to go but like I said Im addicted and plan all the time now. Here is what Im thinking.

Sunday - arrive sometime late afternoon. Set up and take in the sights around Fort. EWP and wishes from the fort beach.

Monday (labor day) - Chef Mickey @ 8:30. Downtown Disney, Mini Golf, More time back at Fort and the Chip and Dale campfire.

Tuesday - MK!! Start at RD and stay as long as we can and head back to the camper for early dinner. Since there is not parade at MK that night we are thinking of hopping to Epcot to see their illuminations show.

Wednesday - Hollywood

Thursday - Epcot...return to MK around evening to see the ESP and wishes in the park.

Friday - Animal Kingdom

Saturday is our check out day :'(

What do you guys think?
