On Valentines day 14 years ago the cat we had recently adopted, Milo, gave birth to 3 little kittens, Socks, Rajah and Greggers. Rajah and Greggers went off to live in their forever homes together and little Socks stayed with Mama kitty and us.
Recently my Mom noticed that Socks was losing wieght and not eating so she took him to the vet. She just found out his blood work looked bad and his urine analysis looked bad. She will probably have to put him down. He's old, he's lived a good life. But since I've moved out of the house him and Milo have been my Moms companions. She's taking this hard. And I'm not doing so well either, I've never lost a pet before. My poor Mom apologized to me because she has to put him to sleep. I'd rather not see him suffer though.
This sucks.
