My First OFFICIAL DVC Trip...SOLO! Pre-Trip...

Pre-trip Report!

**Here is my old TR if you wanna read**

Hey! My name is Pete. I live in New Jersey and I'm 20. I've been Disney obsessed ever since I could remember. I love the parks, movies, and just about everything Disney! I'm also a DVC owner at AKV.

Dates: June 7-11, 2009.

Resorts: AKV (2 nights) & SSR (2 nights) Both are studios.

I couldn't decide which resort I wanted to stay at because these two are my favorite - so why not both!

And yes, this is a solo trip. Almost every trip I've booked, at least one person has canceled on me...or mostly all of them. Sometimes DAYS before! So, it got old...especially since I was taking off work and everything. So I said, what the heck, I'll go solo. Every DISer I know has done it, so why not!? I should be running into some when I get there by the way. It's funny because I've booked two solo trips before (Sept. and Feb.) and both times my friends have joined! HA! All I know is, this trip is about me. No one from home is aloud to join! The last two trips I've been on were VERY short- just quick getaways on my days off. But, this one is 4 nights, 5 days! I cannot wait!

I usually have no problems with booking flights, even days ahead. Going back home is fine...cheap prices, great times. But it took me weeks to find a good time/price on the way there. So, I finally saw 11:39 AM for only 69 dollars with Airtran...so I booked it! It's funny because I checked the day after and they went back up to 99 dollars! I'm glad I booked when I did.

I work the night shift at my job...1 am-10 am. But on Sunday morning (Sat. night), I'm going in at midnight and leaving at 9 am. This may seem crazy, but I can't sleep the night before I leave anyway, so it all works out! I live about 10 minutes outside of Philadelphia, but I work about 25 minutes from there. So, I should be in the airport checking-in, by the time I park...around 10:30!

Let's hope it all goes down smoothly! Only 64 days.

Just thought I'd show a few pictures of my dining room! Very little I know. I wanna paint, but I'm in a lease. But here are two pictures which I think I bought back in 2007. The one on the left is Cinderella Castle which was on sale! The one on the right is Fantasia Mickey and other characters. It says "Where Magic Lives."

This one is on another wall in my dining room. It's EVE from Wall-E!

And in my living room is my growing Disney DVD and Blu-ray collection. These two are on the left of my TV. While I do have another set on the other side, they're all non-Disney movies.

You are asking me ???? I have not had any planned trip in years... you saw what happend last Sept. 08 I tagged along at everybody's ADR... this coming April... I only have one ADR for my bday!!! that is it!!! And waking up at 3PM ... well thats late... atleast I wake up for brunch... back at around 3PM for a nap and out by 6P till around 2AM again

Haha! Well even at 20 I wouldn't be a minor...but its all good!!

EDIT: I wanted to ask you antss, have you used Enterprise car rentals? They have the lowest price and wanted a good review on them...

If so, was it close to the airport and was it quick access to the pick up station? Thanks!

yes those are the 2 rental agency I used.. ALAMO for the comfort of it is at MCO .. and Enterpirse... even if Enterprise is off site of MCO it is very easy to get to... when you get out of their parking lot you make a left.. the 1st light would be your 528 junction.. take 528 west to 4 west and SSR is is the 1st disney exit you will see ... you will be getting in by the Crossing area.. as soon as you get to that ramp stay on your left since it is only a light away till you are home... going home is easy too... MCO is exit 11 (you take 4 East to 528 East) but enterprise is exit 13... no worry for gas if you did not get to fill in before leaving your resort .. there is a Hess station before you get to Enterprise...

Oh wow! Thanks antss for the directions. I know that since Enterprise is off-site, I'll have to use their shuttle to get to their center. How effective is this? Long waiting or is it continuous?

And toll wise, how much are we talking? Considering there is tolls..

not long at all.. they are parked along side with the ME... one shuttle leaves the next one goes to park in the same spot... you would need two 0.75 cents... and your home bound!!!

Oh good! I don't like to waste anytime I have with the mouse! I hope enterprise isn't a hardsell for insurance because I know what these companies do! I work in sales.

BTW!!! I just added another day for my June trip!!! I am flying out of the 10th now instead of the 9th

with Enterprise.. I always use my own insurance.. just have your insurance card out and license and thats it!!! they never give me a hard time.. well last year... I used them almost every weekend... they already know what to do even before I reach the counter

Oh ok. I did have to ask you...how did you afford to fly down every weekend? Haha. But insurance isn't required right? And Enterprise puts a 250 dollar hold on your credit card right?

LOL that is a good question... I called at 5PM today and now on waitlist for that day in all resort I hope I get OKW also... so I dont have to move (OKW from 4th to 9th) Ang offered a bed at POP worst come to worst.. I hope she dont change her mind if I dont get anything "getting those Japanese honey candy for bribe"

yes for the $250.

how did I end up there all those times.. friends who shared room... good ding rates the cheapest I got was a $39 one way from PHL to MCO and good sue of the stimulus $$$
