My first digital camera - help please

I want to buy a digital camera for our Christmas trip in 2 weeks. I need an easy to use model that has a fairly large display screen. Please share your recommendations for a newbie. Thanks!

Look for the Canon A80 or A75 and the Kodak EasyShare CX7430. All are under $200.

If zoom is important to you than you will want one with optical zoom. Also i just learned that not all cameras have sound with their movie feature. The ones i mentioned above do have sound & optical zoom.
