My First Christmas in Florida

I moved to Florida a few months ago and it looks like I won't be flying back to see family until after the new year. So, I'm actually considering spending Christmas Day in one of the parks. Is that just insane? I know it'll be crazy crowded, but maybe also a little fun? Which park might be the least crowded? I have a Fl. resident's AP, so I could easily leave a too-crowded park and check out another. But for anyone who's done this before -- do you think it's worth it? I'm leaning towards Epcot and the storytellers and then leaving before CP that night.

Thanks for any info!

This is a great idea. Since you will be considered an offsite guest. I would go early, make sure you are in the park before 11am. I would suggest Epcot, MK is insane. Take your time talk to other guest while in line or cms. Park hopping might be difficult though. Enjoy the storytellers, make a Ps for lunch/dinner, people watch while you enjoy a mug of hot cocoa. So much to do, you might want to go over to the GF in the evening. The cms sing carols and the pianist/band play wonderful music. You can just sit in the lobby soaking in the wonderful atmosphere.

I know in the past one of the local Orl radio stations host a Norherners xmas party. The Hard Rock has hosted it on several occassions they have it right before xmas, turn up the air and commiserate over being in Fla for the xmas. It is alot of fun.

Thanks for the reply, Grumpy. You make it sound pretty wonderful :-) I'm definitely leaning towards donning a red santa hat and having a magical Disney Christmas. Actually, I'm ready for it NOW!
