I had to go into CVS to pick up a few last minute things, and I found this really cute magnetic travel game. It is Chutes & Ladders (not the original but a knock-off) on one side and Checkers/Chess on the other. It comes with pieces and a die. It folds up small for travel. I found it on a "spinner rack" in the summer toy/summer stuff section of the store. Best of all, it was only 1.99!!! I had seen the Milton Bradley travel games too, and had one in my hand, but when I turned around and saw this one, the MB one went back on the shelf (6.99!!).

Just another little surprise for my ds's to keep them occupied!

thanks for the tip...I'll be going there!

I'm hoping to have a bag full of "new" things for the kids to play with on the plane by October.

thanks!

I bought a large pack (24) for $3.99. They are tiny little containers of slimy colored but see through putty. While they are slimy they are not messy and do not leave hands sticky when done. It's more firm than 'slime' really the consistency of putty but it's ooey-gooey and she loves it. The little containers are about 1 inch around and 2 inches tall. Pocket sized really. We take them to restaurants where she plays with them while waiting to eat and she'd play with it for hours.

I purchased them at Party City but I'm sure you can find them in the party section of lots of stores, they are sold as party favors. And, they are so cheap that I don't mind tossing them when they get gross from the oils/dirt on their little hands.
