After much going back and forth deciding between Dreams Unlimited and going directly through Disney, I have finally finalized my reservations for for my tripDec 26 to Jan 3. I will be traveling alone if that makes a difference.

I will be staying with Dreams Unlimited with a reservation at CBR in a standard, non-smoking room at the Jamaca building with a mini-fridge and the silver dream makers package. Final cost should have it around $2547.80.

I sat down and figured out the price difference with a CBR reservation alone and everything seperate vs. CBR with silver dream maker package:

Magical Wishes:

With me having (2) magical wishes per day, it is hard to calculate the amount these are worth. However if 14 are used for food and two are used to for Cirque du Soleil® La Nouba then my best guess, is that they would be worth roughly between $15-$30 per meal depending on where you eat or if they are dinner shows (might be more)(14) + between $72 & $82 for La Nouba = around +/- $502.

Also, I may use a couple of the wishes for tours instead of meals, so the amount may be higher.

Park Tickets:

According to many sites, an Ultimate Park Hopper® 8-Night Ticket is around 369.

Room:

For 8 nights Dec 26 to Jan 3 at CBR with a standard bed, non-smoking, Jamaica building and with a mini-fridge comes out to 1641.28.

The same set up, but with the silver package comes to 2547.80

Final total's:

Room and everything seperate = 2512.28

Dream maker silver package with room + $2547.80

Difference: I will be paying roughly $35.52 more with the package.

Please give me your feed back on what everyone thinks

Thanks again,

Jason

Jason,

The best way to look at is this:
Basically, adding on the silver plan adds on $68 per night. So, if you get 2 magical wishes per night, then that comes out to $34 per wish. For Cirque, going with the silver plan will save you a little money. For meals, that's $34 per meal. Now, this may seem like a lot, but you could really milk it and ordered really nice expensive things off of the menu. Also, you can use a magical wish on a dinner show, which normally runs about $48, so you'd be saving there too. In all honesty, there may not be really much of a difference at all between a package and doing it all yourself. It may come down to whether or not you like having everything pre-paid before you go, as is the case with a package.

The package sounds like the way to go -- only $36 difference -- WOW!

The wishes are worth somewhere between $34 - $48 or so each. So if you use a wish on a meal, make sure you eat WELL and get your money's worth. If you use the wishes for a dinner show, then you can really maximize their value. Avoid using wishes for things like counter service or buffets. Most buffet's cost wouldn't max out the value for the wish.

My DW and I did a similar package last Nov. and had a wonderful time. We used most of our wishes on meals and ate at some wonderful places. Some places, like Yachtsman SteakHouse, required 2 wishes for the meal.

Using 2 wishes for Cirque is good -- the show is well worth it.

Have a wonderful time!

Silly question, but how often will you be going to the "other" parks (Blizzard beach, Typhoon lagoon, Disney Quest)?

Personally, we've maybe done one water park for one day. We usually spend our time at the 4 major parks. For this reason, I can't justify spending $369 for the "length of stay". I'd rather spend the $22 extra and get the Annual Pass.

This is the ONLY reason I never book any of the packages.

On the other hand, if you do frequent the "other" parks, then it's well worth it.
