My Feet Are Killing Me and I Want a Lollipop 6/17-6/24 (Complete 7/24)

Okay...those BBB pics are PRECIOUS!!! It looks like she had so much fun. My DD was this age when she had her last BBB appt. I miss going to BBB..my DD has gone all tomboy. :( Her last appt. she was the same age as your DD, and we just did hair and makeup. I think she did it just to make me happy. LOL! But she got to open the World of Disney that day, and she still talks about it. The next time ya'll go, try the one at World of Disney. For one there is more space, I've had better luck with the appt. starting on time, and if you buy a costume, there's a better shot that they will have your sizes.

So happy for you for the Thanksgiving trip! I bought a Groupon yesterday for a resort near WDW, and had planned to use it for Thanksgiving. Being me, I didn't bother to do my research on the place until afterwards. I read enough distrubing reviews on Trip Advisor that I stopped the purchase.

Good Girl already making your adr's, you must share!!! What a great day at MK, BTMRR is our favorite! I felt sad for you as you were leaving, I hate when it's over - I suppose it's a little easier now with DVC!:cool1:

I can't wait to check out the new Mickey meeting area, since it will be just DS12 and I for August, I'm guessing we will skip the princesses (my DS9 would be all about them, cause they are pretty girls!!! He's smart!) DS12 is a Mickey fan, so we won't miss it.

Off to :laundy:

She really loves all of that girlie stuff. I made that appointment kinda late in the game, so that is why it was so late in the day. I will look into World of Disney next time. But she was pumped to be doing something inside the castle.

I am fired up about the Thanksgiving trip. We usually go to Gatlinburg, but we cancelled our cabin and going to Disney instead. That cabin was expensive, so I figure we are saving money this way.

It is hard to take a risk on some outside place isn't it ?? We saw some bad reviews about our RCI resort, but we just love it there. But it really is hard to make the purchase when you just don't know.

Off to :laundy:

I was all over those ADR's. I'll probably change them a time or two before we go.

The Mickey meeting area was cool and the Photopass CD came with a bunchy of pictures with just Mickey and Minnie indifferent poses, so that was cool.

I feel your pain on the laundry !! :laundy:

Off to Myrtle Beach for the weekend !! Will post more updates next week :)

Have a great time:cool2:, I have always wanted to go there! How far away is it?

I am waiting for DH to load the car .... which will take forever ....

It is only three hours from where we live, so not bad at all.

We are back from our beach trip. We had a good time and the weather was completely amazing. Low 80's with a strong cool breeze. I couldn't believe how lucky we got with the weather.

But the whole time we were saying .... this isn't Disney. Do any of y'all do that ?? Compare your other trips to Disney trips and have it fall short ?? Anyway, I will get an update up sometime today.

Our last day …… sigh. Always a sad day. We always go to a park on our last day. We stay until we are tired and then we just drive home. It is always a tiring day, but we squeeze the last bit of Disney that we can. Plus we still had 10 counter service credits and 5 snack credits to burn. We also had seven individual super fast passes to use – no waiting !!! There’s so much fun ahead !! We got the car packed, checked out and said goodbye to our lovely Old Key West Resort.

The plan for today was to go to Epcot. Since we had toured Future World our first Epcot day, this day would be all about the countries in World Showcase. After packing and check out we got to the park about 10:15 AM. First on the agenda, breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. While I got breakfast, DH ran to get FP’s for Test Track. He decided to get regular FP’s and save the super ones for later.

DH got the breakfast platter,

100_2848.jpg

French toast, eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon and a biscuit. He had coffee to drink.

DD got a Powerade and a cinnamon roll.

100_2849.jpg

DS ordered an adult French toast platter, but they gave him a child’s one. He had water to drink.

I just shared with everyone.

I gotta say, Sunshine Seasons is just meh to me. Next time we eat at Epcot, we will give some restaurants in the countries a try for sure. The bad thing is that World Showcase doesn’t open until 11:00 AM, so not a great breakfast option for us.

While we were at the Land, we decided to ride Soarin’. We used the super fast passes. Only three left !!

100_2852.jpg

100_2853.jpg

Ahhh … I just love this ride. The Land was so packed that we had to wait in line to get back upstairs. The wait for Soarin’ was 65 minutes. We met this nice family on the ride and it was their first full day at Disney and they were so excited. We gave them a few quick tips and wished them well. DH wanted some photos of the mural outside.

After that, we rode Test Track. So much fun.

After that, we FINALLY headed towards the World Showcase. We decided to go clockwise this time and start in Mexico.

DD got a Duffy to color and stamp at all of the Kidcot stations. I was going to get her a passport, but she said she just wanted the bear. OK with us.
On the way to Norway, we stopped and got a Fiesta Margarita

100_2875.jpg

Norway.

I like Norway. It reminds me of Sweden. I am half Swedish. I have an account on Ancestry.com and I am completely fascinated by it. I have traced my Swedish ancestors back to Sweden in 1830. Fun stuff.

We saw that the wait for Maelstrom was only 10 minutes, but we still had half of our Margarita still to drink, so we got a fast pass for later. More Norway photos.

Again … she just cracks me up !!

We went and got DD’s bear stamped at the Kidcot station and decided to check China out while we were finishing up our drink.

They sold these three sticks as a toy. You held two in your hand while you tried to use those the keep the other one in the air by flipping it back and forth. There was this Army guy there that was really good at it and he was fun to watch.

This is the story of my life! I save up as many podcasts as I can so when we are on a cruise or at the beach in FL I can have a little Disney with me every day. Nothing compares anymore, nothing, and only other Dis fans get this, cause everyone else just thinks we are crazy for wanting to go to the same place over and over, they don't get it!:sad2:

Yes, I know what you mean. We were at the Cleveland zoo for the day and kept comparing it to Disney. I guess some other places just don't have the excitement we are looking for.

I know !! We stayed at a pretty nice place and it was Ocean front and the weather was beautiful, truly gorgeous. But ..... it just wasn't Disney. My DH and I were saying that perhaps now that we have DVC, we should just go to Hilton Head or Vero from now on.

that's one of the reasons I love the Dis boards, I always refer to people I post with as my Disney friends, sometimes my DH doesn't get that, but I tell him it's people just like me that LOVE all things Disney. I find comfort in my 'support group'!:grouphug:

I've finally had a chance to catch up - out of town for work last week. We were in the NC mountains and the weather was great, but a week without good internet access was tough! Your daughter looks beautiful after her BBB makeover. It seems like so much fun. After seeing the picture, I am looking forward to having the fried shrimp at Columbia Harbor House while sitting upstairs. Congratulations on booking your Thanksgiving trip! My parents were visiting over the weekend and we spent a lot of time talking about our September trip and working on our budget, both time and money. We're all so excited. I can't believe you are on your last day already; looking forward to hearing about the end of your trip.

LOL. It IS comforting to know that there are people out there just as obsessed about Disney as you are ... or even more so ... if that is possible.

I just love the NC mountains !! It is so beautiful there. I didn't have internet access at the beach either - well, not any access that I wanted to pay $10 a day for. So I took a break from it for a while and read two books which was nice.

BBB was fun. She really enjoyed the experience.

Columbia Harbor House was really good I highly recommend it. The shrimp was excellent and the portion size was huge. Something like 8 shrimp and a ton of fries. So you could easily share if you wanted to save some money.

Yes, our last day. It is sad. I have been thinking about doing a dining review just to keep things going :lmao::rotfl: I just love checking up on my TR and seeing who has stopped by to say hello and chat with me a bit. :)

After our drink was finished, we got DD’s bear stamped in China and headed back to Norway to ride Maelstrom.

Every time we visit Germany in Epcot, we have to get a pretzel

…. And a beer. I really like the Oktoberfest. And this one was really good and cold.

We got DD’s bear stamped and moved along.

We were in Blowing Rock for our meeting and it was beautiful. The weather didn't get above 80 and most of the time it was cooler than that. I had time to read too and it was great. Glad you had a good time at the beach and the weather was cooler. I guess we're all going to be sweltering again by the end of the week!

My mom and I are planning to split a lot of meals on our vacation. We have similar tastes in food and finding something we agree on will be easy. Did you ever have a problem splitting meals? Our only ADRs at table service restaurants are at Teppan Edo (where we don't plan to split), 50's Prime Time and Sci-Fi Dinner Theater. Our biggest challenge is finding food for my dd, Emma. She's an 11 year old vegetarian who really doesn't like many vegetables. But, she's very sweet and funny so we overlook her pickiness.

You should start a pre-trip report for September so we can all keep in touch. I am thinking about attempting one; I just have to get organized. :rolleyes1

Yes, it appears that we will all be sweltering again for the next several weeks. To tell the truth, I am always very glad to see summer end. August is always the worst month here.

DH and I split something almost every where we went. Because of that, we were able to add another TS and CS to our plans. We never had a problem with it and they often brought our plates out already split up for us. My DD is picky, too. So I feel your pain.

Maybe I will start a PTR since this TR will be ending soon.
