....from standing 6 hours, Mon-Fri.

I wear Hi-Tec work shoes/boots while at work, put my Crocs on when I get home. I have several pair of sneakers - some more supportive than others - none that I really want to bring to Disney w/me. I plan to bring a pair of Birkenstock sandals to wear in the evening.

Please share what brand/style of footwear that works best for you while gettin' your Disney on. :) Thank you!!

I got fitted for Saucony's at our local running store and I now have very happy feet. I walk 3 miles a day and am on my way to walking 4-5 miles in anticipation for our WDW trip in 2015.

Saucony gets my vote! Most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn!

Thanks...I've had Saucony sneakers before and really like them while on
the treadmill.

As I think this whole foot thing over, I realize that I should be okay - it's
standing that bothers my feet, not walking. Now to minimize my waiting in
line time. ;)

you're right...it's not the walking...it's all the standing on pavement that kills my feet!:thumbsup2 that said, I prefer to walk rather than stand,(i.e. wait in line for a bus, or walk to destination if a choice,I walk)
also, my go-to comfort shoes are birkenstocks and crocs- 3rd place are my Nike sneakers- I have high(high) arches, and these provide enough support (the crocs mold to shape of my foot) Realistically, my feet are only sore with the sneakers after many miles/hours.(not to bad,but some) with the birkenstocks or crocs,I have happy feet. (can also walk far in Teva mush flip flops, same reason as the crocs)

mamato2 - we sound like we have identical feet. ;)

After reading the "shoes" thread that I did not see earlier, I'm looking at the Vionic brand.

Sketchers Go Walks were my go to shoes last trip. I needed a softer shoe for all the standing. But longer walking days in the park (13 miles one day) proved too much. This trip I tried two new things; soaking my feet at night in Epsom salt and Bio Freeze pain spray. The spray was great, took hours off of the pain.

Thanks for sharing your tips, april. :thumbsup2

I rotate wearing Sketchers (I have 2 pair), HiTec (2 pair) and several
pair of sneakers - but I can seldom last my 6 hour standing shift w/sneakers
only. HiTec's are best for me - I work retail and am sometimes on a metal
ladder as well.

Looking forward to trying out these new Vionics. I also checked out some
Merrill mary janes - maybe they'll be my next shoe splurge.

I wear Reebok DMX shoes. The have nice support and the air chamber in the sole are great. I bring two pairs. By switching to a different pair it gives my feet a break from being in the first pair all day. It helps a lot. I sit in the hot tub at night and let the jets massage my feet.

My trick last time I went (as a first-timer, and apparently commando) was two pairs of shoes (wish I had brought a third - one pair took a day and a half or so to dry out). Newish, but broken in some (you want them to be comfortable, but still have most of their padding left). Leave room in your shoes, your feet will swell over the course of the day. Alternate pairs every day (or if you go back to the room in the afternoons and back out for the evenings, alternate there). Alternating pairs (especially if two different models of shoe) helps avoid hot spots that can blister.

I brought two different kinds of socks as well - thin, moisture-wicking socks (for the bulk of touring), and cushier padded socks (dinner after a long park day). I applied Body Glide to the bottom of my feet before putting on my socks each day and went off. Ended up going a full week of touring with only one evening spent at the resort actually resting (mistake I'll correct next time, mostly to save my wife) and had no hot spots, needed no moleskin, nothing.

Not sure it'll work for you, but seemed to work a treat for me.

I have issues with my feet and am bringing Sketcher Go Walks, New Balance running shoes, Sketcher Rasta sandals and a pair of flip flops. I'm hoping that switching out each day will help. I also bring some peppermint foot spray and put it in the room fridge. It is GLORIOUS after a day in the park to spray that on your feet!!! :thumbsup2

My best luck to avoid blisters is asics running shoes with gel insole and Balega socks. I also take some other changes of shoes ie Birkenstocks but I can't do those for a whole day.

I love my Crocs! However, I have noticed that while they make my feet feel great, my legs and back are killing me by the end of the day. The only time this didn't happen was when I bought a pair of brand new Mickey Crocs the first day and wore them the rest of the week. So I think it's a support issue. If you choose to go with Crocs, buy a new pair for the trip!

Thank you so much, everyone!
I so appreciate all of your responses and will be implementing your advice!! :goodvibes

AM so sorry and can sympathize. I've been having feet issues since end of summer (little toe hurts and my feet have been burning and getting numb). Have desperate been trying to find shoes. Many from this site gave advice about Sketchers Go Walks. I have bought a pair and so far they are the only thing that feels ok. I just hope they give enough support.
I've been running to the stores trying to find wide width but nothing is comfortable. The store is ordering a size E width that I'll run out and try on Tuesday...but very close to our trip considering we leave on Sunday.
Did you try your GO walks? I can see how the standing makes the feet sore.
Hope things feel better for you. You don't want to have to focus on achy feet.

One of the best tips I got for sore tired feet after a Disney day is to put them in cool water before bed. We usually stick them in the pool or in shallow water in the bathtub. That and some Advil and the next morning they are ready to go. It usually is quite peaceful at night at one of the pools. And none of the CMs have said anything to us about being "in the pool" after hours either. But there is a difference between swimming and dipping feet in.

Thanks, Frozen. Yes, I have 2 pair of the Go Walks by Sketchers. I wear them to work, rotating w/my Hi Tec's.

Hope your E width shoes work for you on Tuesday!!:goodvibes How fun that you leave on Sunday!! I love the anticipation of a vacation. Have a wonderful, foot-pain-free time. :)

lylone - cool water before bed sounds very soothing. Thanks for the tip!

Just got done with an approximate 7 hr visit to sea world and my feet were hurting at the end of the night. We have about 35 days until our trip, and we'll be up and about for WAY more than 7 hrs. Thinking I need to start walking/jogging to get my feet into shape. My shoes are fairly new so I don't think that is the issue. Any ideas?

Read this entire thread! Then read the "Shoes" thread!

People are very generous w/their "how to make your feet last while at Disney" advice. Seriously.

Walking every day is always a good idea! :thumbsup2

Has anyone ever tried Abeo sandals or flip flops? They are pricey, flip flops start at $89. I had to get a pair for my 9yr because she had a lot of foot pain due to flat feet and a friend, who is a physical therapist, recommended them. They are amazing!! Although I couldn't get a pair for myself, I tried them on at the store and they were so supportive! My daughter loves them and they have really helped her foot pain. I'm not so worried about her having to walk miles and her feet being in constant pain.
