My fear about Hurricane Isabel.......

Those are the same things I have been wondering,
I hope your Weatherman is right

I hope everyone is ok. I also pray this thing slows down or goes somewhere else. I live on the coastline of eastern NC  I am having a new home built and they just framed it last week  I also pray CC is there when we sail in October, that beautiful island keeps me coming back.

I agree with being safe on a cruise ship. My DH and I sailed on a 7 day CCL cruise out of TPA in July 1 day behind TS Claudette every step of the way. Waves were rough at time but nothing to make you sick and we only had rain one time in Belize so we were lucky. We did stop one day at sea on the way to GC to help a stranded catamaran that had been blown off course bc of the TS. Carnival passed on supplies and water and gave them new coordinates and we were on our way.

I was shocked that they did not want to leave their boat and come on board as CCL offered. They had 9 people, 2 were babies and 2 dogs on that thing and it was small.............someone mentioned they probably were sea gypsy's.

Anyway, hope you all are ok and this thing passes NC too :(

Isabel is now a category 5 - winds are 160. I live on the east coast of Florida and it makes me nervous. I havent lived in Fl. that long - never been through a hurricane.

buzz&woody'smom, I also live on the coast of NC. We are watching this one closely too. I hope that everyone who lives in the projected path of the storm stays safe.

batten down those hatches all you Floridians and stay safe. I've been through some hurricanes up here (to name a few--Bob, Gloria, the No Name storm where the Andrea Gale disappeared--AKA the Perfect Storm), but nothing compared to what you guys get... we usually receive the remnants of your storms.

Be careful and hope everything will be over soon!

Someone posted this link in a thread a whle back - this is the NOAA Hurricane Center, where most weathermen get their info from. Sofar, it looks like it might just turn north.

I can remember Hurricane Hugo. I lived in Columbia SC and was a Junior at USC.......we were so naive we had a Hurricane Hudo party  I woke the next morning and a tree had totalled my car outside of my apartment but I had slept right thru it. If anyone hears anything new on Isabel and its path, please post! Best wishes to all...............

Looks like it is now projected to miss Florida and CC but heading for Georgia or SC.
