My favorite commercial is back!

I just saw an "old" WDW commercial..."We're too excited to sleep!"
I find this commercial SO amusing because one year, even before this commercial was released, we were going to be heading down to WDW with the kids (they were all really little). We get the kids off to bed and DH and I layed down. Well...guess who's too excited to sleep!! If you guessed me, you're wrong (I was too exhausted NOT to sleep!! ). After laying in bed, not sleeping for a couple hours, DH announces "That's it...we're leaving NOW!". We pulled out of the driveway at 1 am!! No joke!!

It is me that is too excited to sleep! 6 years ago we decided to drive to Disney with our children then 2 and 4yrs old!! We rented a van and took our black lab with us!! We left at 3am in the morning and drove until we got a flat tire at 6pm in Georga! The car rental place said they were sending someone out to fix the flat, they never showed up so my husband changed the tire to the little donut spare in the rain!! It was getting late so we found a hotel room in the next town! needless to say the kids were bouncing off the wall and so was I!! The only one tired was my husband!! We tried to find a real tire but it was late at night so we had to stay there until morning!!! We all tried to lay down and get some sleep..... I was too close to Florida and Disney to sleep!! So.. I got everyone up and I drove the rest of the way to Disney at 2 am that night! (with the little donut spare tire on!)! We have 21 more days to go and I am toooo excited to sleep now!!! (some peoples kids!)

What cute little stories! I love the determination of dck12ga and getting to Disney World on the little donut spare tire! A woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do...to get to WDW!

Too Funny! We are blessed to only be about 7 hours away. We have made 4 trip in the past year, usually I have to book after DH sees a show on the Travel Channel (thank you Samantha Brown!). It's not unusual for him to say, a few days before we leave, see if we can get the room a day early and we'll go on down. Now that we have AP's it's not unusual to leave around 8 AM and hit a park that evening for dinner and fireworks. I love that commercial as much as I dislike the Hero one. I agree with another poster, it makes me think of Universal Studios.

this commercial so hits home for us too!! the night before departing on our trips we (DH and I) always keep saying "we should get some sleep - tomorrow will be a long day" but we are so excited (about the travel itself and about having a good time at WDW) that sleep is not an option.

once in the middle of the night, we decided to heck with this, if we are up anyway, why not get a few hours driving under our belts. We put the sleeping child in the car and took off. We made it to Florida a day early and were lucky enough that we could check in to the campground. (we were ready to stay the night in the walmart parking lot if we had too.)

Best part was, we didn't realize it was a Disney commercial until the end.
