Saturday night, my older daughter Jeana is having a friend sleep over. I thought it would be easier if I let my youngest daughter Jessie sleep in her brothers room with him (sleeping bag) instead of hearing all night "Mom, Jessie's bothering us!". My father, who lives here as well, tells me that he thinks that it wrong...a boy and girl should not share the same room! For crying out loud, it's for one night and they are siblings! :bounce: He can be such a prude, I'm really surprised he and my mom even managed to have kids!!

My little brother and sister shared a room until he was about 9 and she was 7. All three of us kids slept together in the same tent when we went camping and stayed in the same hotel room on vacation, etc. I don't see anything wrong with it at all. How could it possibly be a problem??

Maybe you could suggest that your dad take the sleeping bag in your son's room, and your youngest DD can have grandpa's room.

Think he'd change his tune pretty quick?:p

I don't see a problem with it. I totally agree it's easier than having her bothered.

My siblings and I are all adults, and 2 years ago my little brother (in his 30s) asked me to go to Maui with him because his wife was 8 months pregnant - he won this trip through his company, and she insisted that we go! My father said that he and I should not share a room - that would not look right, so we should get two rooms (for over $300 a night). We thought that was a hoot - though we both breathed sighs of relief and laughed at ourselves and each other when we saw that our room had two beds. (We would have requested that they be separated of course!) We had such an awesome time and agreed that this was more fun than being with a spouse - no pressure, just fun!

My brother and I shared bunk beds for many years when we were young. My kids sleep in the same tent and the same hotel room when we're away. I certainly don't see anything wrong with it.
