My fastpass idea

We are going to DL in Aug. We are going on a wensday, friday and saturday. I was thinking that this might be a good idea. For every ride we hit, we get a fastpass for it and then go ride it. So we can come back to it a little later and ride it again. So if we are there when they open up, we chould get to space mountain asap, and get a fastpass, then get in line, ride it then head over to Jones ride get a fastpass then wait in line, then i chould go back whever i wanted? Hows that sound, and think its gonna be real real busy the first week of august?

The only problem is you can only have one fastpass at a time (unless the time listed is more than 2 hours from when you got it). So, if you hit Splash and got a fastpass at 9:00 for 10-11, you can't get another until 10. If you hit Space at 10:00 and get a fastpass for 1-3, you can't get another until 12.

Yea but i can still get one at the rides that arent connected right, i think they were thunder mt, HM, and POFC right?

The only rides not connected are roger rabbit at DL and grizzly river run at DCA. The two parks also aren't connected.

Haunted mansion only has FP in the holiday season POTC does not have FP.

ETA: Here is the complete list of the rides that have fastpass
DL

Autopia, Big Thunder, Buzz Lightyear, Indiana Jones, Roger Rabbit, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain.

DCA

CA Screamin', Grizzly River Run, Muholland Madness, Soarin' Over CA, Tower of Terror.

Unless all you want to do are thrill rides, your strategy is not a very good one. Assuming you want to do non-thrill rides too, it is essential you work certain non-thrillers into the first two hours of the day (and the last two if you are staying late). Otherwise you will wait forever for these. Examples are:

Jungle Cruise
Peter Pan
Alice in Wonderland
Matterhorn
StoryBook Land
Mr Toad

Others that are a little more forgiving but you still need to do early or late include:

Haunted Mansion
POTC
Small World

The basic philosphy is do not use precious early morning minutes on any ride with a FastPass, because once you get your FP you can ride it mid-day with almost no wait. If yoou get to the park when it opens and hustle around, you can get two FastPasses for Space Mtn, Splash, Indy and Bug Thunder. And maybe Buzz too.

If you want to ride all the thrillers twice at DL and DCA, consider using RideMax. It can help you do that. See www.ridemax.com .

Yea and DL the only rides we are intrested in are pretty much thrill rides. We are looking to go to space mt, splash mt, jones, POTC, Big thunder, star tours, buzz, and HM.

You still might want to spend the $15 on RideMax and let it help you schedule these. I should have included Star Tours in my list of "do in the first two hours". That one does not have FP and the line can get long.

You can save yourself $15 and just use HydroGuy's exhaustive touring plan from last August!

How's it going HG?!?! :wave2:

Hi MB. Things are going great. At the moment I am somewhere over the Atlantic on the way back home from a week in Germany. We are leaving for WDW in 20 days. I have a business conference for 3 days at a WDW hotel, and altogether we are staying 10 days at WDW.

And how are things in the land of lakes? Say hello to Laura!

yea i bought the ridemax, so how many people have used these and it worked out good for them?
See my RideMax DLR critique here:

I would add that RideMax really helped us out on a day trip at Thanksgiving. We had an exchange student with us, and we really wanted to hit certain rides because it was ger first Disney trip ever. RideMax helped us schedule the first 3 hours and it worked well for us. After that, we departed from following RideMax strictly and did the easier to do rides and the FastPass ones.
