Last July my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She had cyberknife for her brain, radiation for the mets in her bones and then chemo. She responded really well at first..the brain tumors disappeared and everything else shrunk dramatically. A few months ago, her pet scans showed the lung tumors have grown again and also there were new ones. She went to a consult with a new dr. last week and he was concerned that she has more tumors in the brain so yesterday she had a brain mri and another ct scan. They showed 4 new tumors in her brain and that the lung tumors have grown more. I have held it together almost this whole year and prayed and thought positively even knowing the statistics. I tried to be optimistic. But I feel so scared and sad right now. My mom is my best friend in the whole world. I hate watching her feel so sick. She is only 54 years old and this just is not fair. We had a fire in November and lost our home too..like how much more can my family take? Please any prayers or good thoughts you can send my way would be more than appreciated.

 You and your family are in my prayers- and special prayers for your Mom. :grouphug:

I am so sorry.
I will pray for your mother and for you, too. I am so sorry for what you are going through. Your mom is so young...

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'll keep your family and your mom in my prayers.

Thank you so very much. She is too young. I have a 12 year old brother still at home. This disease is so very unfair and what many people don't realize is that you don't have to smoke or have smoked to get it. And NO ONE ever deserves this. Thank you again.

Praying for you ... I do know how you're feeling....

My mom was diagnosed in Dec. 2008 with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer @ age 57. It had spread to her lungs, brain, liver, etc....

She too had the cyberknife procedure on the brain tumors and aggressive chemo for over a year straight. They put her on a less aggressive chemo because the tumors were all shrinking. After a PET scan following the oral (less aggressive) chemo, there were 2 new spots on the brain and a new one on the liver. She just had the cyberknife procedure done again 2 weeks ago and is back in IV chemo.....

It's so hard seeing our moms go through this.... I'm so sorry your family has had so much to deal with on top of it as well with the fire....

Sending you all the prayers I can muster.... (((HUGS))) to you and your family....

Thank you!!! It's hard to talk about with people that have not gone through this..I feel so many different things and I have 2 kids myself and don't want them to see me upset. I'm glad to know that cyberknife can be done more than once..we weren't sure about that. She goes back to the dr. on Monday so I guess we will just wait and see what he says. Thank you for the prayers..I will keep you and your mom in my prayers also. Cancer bites.

Op I'm sending prayers to you and your mom. My mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer 3 weeks ago. She is my best friend and I'm her only child. I have been sick with worry and fear and anxiety. It really sucks. Sending hugs and prayers your way.

Ugh, cancer sucks.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last summer as well.

Keep hope and faith. There are many chemo drugs and things beyond chemo.

Don't be afraid to ask for help and support.
