My family and friends have graduated...

My wife and I graduated from getting asked "When are you going to Disney this year?" to "I guess you'll be at Disney the month of February again?" a few years ago.

After 15 years, I still am sad when leaving a DVC villa. We left HHI today with an ache to get back there again! And heck, we are on our way to BWV!!!

Twenty one years since our first trip and we still look forward to going. My BIL asked us last year if we could plan a trip to WDW for our niece's graduation trip for their whole family on our points (with us going along). Hah.

I received a flurry of well-wishing text messages on my birthday this year. One asked, "Soooo, where are you?"
Me: "WDW, staying in the new Copper Creek Cascade Cabin."
Text: "Glad to hear you are at your home away from home."

They understood. ;-)
Of course, for ~20 years I spent my b'day at WDW ... but mostly for a work-related conference. This year was all for fun!

Our family and friends know: Where are you going this year on DCL? Then: can we come along? It's my DH's sister and her husband's turn this year "to Alaska".

My family and friends have graduated
from exclaiming "You're going to Disney again?"
What I would of told them at this point to move along to the next question, worked for my family:
What I tell people is:
Whoever pays the piper calls the music.
If your family wants you to go on a vacation and they are willing to pay for it, go and have a great time on them. If you are paying for the trip you go where and when you choose to go.

"So when are you going to Disney this year?"

Almost brought a tear to my eye.

Everybody I’ve brought/bring loves my DVC, but in 19 yrs, no one’s ever bought in. However, it’s brought me joy to share it with family & friends. And the favorite question, what dates are we going to Food & Wine?

There are some old generation family members that we would rather not tell when heading back for a second time in the same year.

My children lost the love of WDW for a bit and now they are aging (mid - late 20s) back in to it. JOYOUS

Thinking ahead, my points don't seem like enough any more but can't imagine paying the current rates to buy.
