I just wanted to share my experience. This week our 30 day window opened up and I was anxiously waiting to see how the process would go. We're going during a week with no free dining, food and wine and we have 5 people. I stayed up to midnight every night except one (night before our 2nd EPCOT day).

The only ride we did not get was 7DMT. It was completely booked for the week we are visiting. Otherwise, we had no problems scheduling rides at the times we wanted with the exception of the character spot at EPCOT. I was hoping for morning but 4:30pm was the earliest time. Overall not bad. I still miss the spontaneity of getting my fastpasses the day of but if I have to conform this wasn't a bad experience overall.

We fared better than we thought we would as well. Our 30 day window opened up about a week and a half ago. We only have MNSSHP tickets, so our only time slots to work with were 3:30 - 4:30 pm, 4:30 - 5:30 pm, and 5:30 - 6:30 pm. 7DMT was obviously gone, but were were able to get the rest of the rides that we wanted at MK (BTMRR, Pirates, HM, Jungle Cruise, Splash).

While I hate the concept of FP+, the process of booking them was smoother than I anticipated.

We did MNSSHP last year and rode 7DMT standby with little to no wait. There were parts of the evening where the standby line was very long, but it was not that way all night.

Thanks! We're hoping to catch it by rope drop or end of the evening. We're not going to MNSSHP this year though.

Was there last Saturday and did 7Dwarfs -Peter Pan and Haunted Mansion all at rope drop in the first hour. First time thru both 7D and PP standby lines. WOW PP was well worth it.

We've only done rope drop at EPCOT. Should I arrive by 8:30am for the 9am opening? What would you suggest?

This is great to hear. We plan to stay offsite so happy people were able to still get their rides

If you book your first night on site you can make 60 day FP+ for your entire stay. A great rate at All Star Sports and it covers DME, magic bands and early FP+.

Ok I'm very confused about booking fast passes. Last time we were at WDW (2011) this wasn't happening. How do you know which rides have fast passes and how do you book them? I'm confused.

Once you have tickets linked to MDE you can click on Fast Pass+, click which date, which park and it will show you what attractions are available and different time options. There are step by step instructions about fast pass on MDE.

We are in the same boat. The easiest thing to do is to check out Undercover Tourist's page on Fastpass +. IMO it's way too complicated. More rides have fastpasses now but you can only get 3 and then hope to get a 4th one when you are in the park.

You can only get additional passes after you have used the three you have for the day.

Pbarager what is MDE? We hadn't decided if we would buy our passes online or wait til we get there. Does that mean if we buy our tickets at the gate we can't prebook fast passes?

It is My Disney Experience. You can only make FP+ selections when you have tickets linked to your account (card or magic band).

Fastpass + is booked 30 days in advance (if you're staying offsite). You can still wait until you arrive at the park and book fastpasses using the web My Disney Experience or the app. You'll get whatever times are left. Worse case, you standby on every ride.

I'm sorry but I still don't understand. I'm not from the U.S. And we have just booked accomodation offsite online. Does that mean we can't use the fast passes now?
