While waiting line yesterday I could not help thinking of ways it could be improved. Taking into consideration that the staff IS paid for this job and also they do have to eat why can't they make it a little easier on us and by that, would make it easier on them with less complaints.
First the biggie waiting in the cue to get into a room. It isn't right for someone to wait an hour only to get into a room and have either the host not there (just left) or have her about to leave. Why can't they do two things.
1. Put a notice when you enter a cut that the room will be closing for trades at a certian time. That way a person would know if there is only 15 minutes until the host has to leave and 39 peple in cue, that they don't stand a chance of making it.
2. Allow the Staff member to not only close the line but close the cue or notify people in the cue that she is leaving at a certian time.
3. Have the staff member post in the room description if she is out of something so the people that are waiting won't wait for nothing.
That would make the cues easier and shorter since people would not be in line for a room that isn't open, will be closing soon etc.
Once you get into a room. Make the line so people can't cut. Too many people were cutting in line and I realize that the staff member is trading and can't watch all of that but causes friction. Make the line so there isn't room for it and have a policy that blatent cutting will mean that person would be booted.
How about having a person with the host maybe a CL that can answer questions and state whatever rules there are. Or even better a message like when you click on a character that says "welcome Always Princess please make sure that you have a retro pin to trade before getting in line" or whatever. Having a CL there to answer questions means that someone doesn't wait a long time to get insulted by the host bu not having the right pin. They can kind of watch things and keep everyone from cutting etc. People answered questions for each other but correct information was not always given. I was surprised at how many questions people had. This would tie the host up from answering questions and allow her to trade faster.
They could keep a list of people that crashed and allow them front of the line access or something like that. How many people got to the trade and then crashed. It happened to me twice. I was not happy. Maybe the CL could keep a list of what they wanted and they could either be sent a code for a pin. It is just so disappointing to be that close and crash.
Of course more specific information about when and what they will be trading would help and if they say they are trading at a certian time they better be. The staff can eat before! If they are going to trade at 1 open the room at 12:45 and not a second earlier. When I say open the room I mean have it so people can't be waiting in there when there is no trading going on. Once the trading stops the room is cleared and the room is closed so people can't even enter the cue for it.
This event each host did something different and I waas really dismayed at how many times I got booted or entered a room after a long wait to have the host not there. Yavns rooms is open right now and I am going to bet that he is not there so WHY am in that cue?
