My envelopes are too thick to print on

They're pale gold. Would printing on white labels and sticking them onto the envelopes look tacky?

I know it'll probably cost more but is there any way of getting like printed labels with the addresses? I mean idk how many invitations you're sending out but it's an idea.

We used clear labels on our red envelopes and on our ivory envelopes. You could see them a little bit on the red but they blended well with the ivory.

You can find CLEAR labels and use those instead of the white. FWIW, I think the white labels would cheapen the look; but the clear may work. :goodvibes

Another idea is to find labels which co-ordinate with your envelopes. A printer may be able to help you find something at a decent price.

I already have white labels, so I thought it could be a way of fixing the problem without it costing me more, but yeah, I think it will look bad. So I'll look into different labels.

I didn't think about clear before.

have you thought about hand addressing your invites? I think they look more personal that way :goodvibes

My vote is with weedee. I would hand address them (or find someone with beautiful handwriting/calligraphy skills). Labels would cheapen the invites.

I used clear labels for my invites. My envelope was an aquamarine color and you couldn't really tell there was a label on it. I printed then in a calligraphy style font and they looked great.

Remember that this is the outer envelope, people are just going to open it and probably throw it away. I know when I went to guests houses before the wedding they had the invite tacked up on the fridge or cork-board, not the envelope.

If you have any spare envelopes, you could split them and use the front of the spare ones (which would obviously be half the thickness) to make address labels. If you insert a border around the address and stick it on to the envelope, it will look like the address has been printed directly onto the envelope. I did this on my STDs as my envelopes were causing me printing problems, and it worked really well!!! HTH

I have to second this, I don't remember how a single outer invitation looked.

That's not a bad idea. I need to buy more any way, so I should just get a few extra.

My hand writing is atrocious! :lmao: Plus I'm left handed, so anything I write on these slightly shiny envelopes would just be smeared :sad2:

I didn't really want to have to pay someone to write on the envelopes either, as mentioned previously no one really keeps the envelopes so I don't really want to sink more money into it then I have to :confused3

Problem solved, the printer at work can handle my envelopes :thumbsup2
