Gotta love people that operate in extremes! There is a fine line between expressing one's disapproval and acting like an idiot, she evidently chose the latter.

You handled it right. He shouldn't have taken the spot, but he probably learned from this experience.

I'll be in your position in a few years and I'm not looking forward to it. I remember some of the things I did when I was learning to drive.

IMO, you handled it perfectly. Your son learned a few valuable lessons along the way and he'll be all the better for it. Shame on that woman for not accepting his apology when it was truly meant.

My son will get his permit later this year and I think he'll do okay. It's my daughter that will get hers next year that really worries the heck outta me. I just don't think I'll be able to handle riding with her at 1st. Hubby's hair is already starting to turn gray, I think I'll just leave it to him.

You handled the situation beautifully. Your ds was learning the rules of the road, so what was her excuse? I have to admit after reading your post I felt downright sorry for your son.

You did the right thing. Giving your son the chance to appologize for his mistake is more than what some parents would do. That lady was obviously just rude. Chalk it up to his first experience of road rage.
