Up until now, they've been really spritely. Well, Charlie still is pretty much, running and playing :) But Tillie, 11, is slow on her feet and pestered by allergies :( I'm not in the dark, I know they won't live forever, but please God, just a few more years?

Our family dog is 16.5. He still seems mostly happy and tries to play with my puppies sometimes even if his back legs don't work so well anymore. It can't be too long now, though.

Yeah, it's tough when they get old. My cat is definitely senior these days and I can see it some. Still, she's good and happy and enjoying life. Just always concentrate on the good times and love on them plenty.

I lost my Millie (we were told she was 9 but the vet said it may have been closer to 13) suddenly, she was fine. She ate, ran around, bossed everyone 😉. She just went to sleep and didn't wake up. It sent my other senior, Miles, into a depression that he just didn't come out of. I lost both in the same month only a week before my birthday. I just hope that I can keep my Molly for just a little longer. I did the math when I got all three, I always knew they'd be back to back, just never figured it be that close, ya know?

We have four dogs. One of my Yorkies has PLE and I know her time is limited. My daughter's dachshund is 13 and I know he will not be with us much longer either. It's hard to say goodbye but the joy they give me in their short lives is worth the grief.

Mine are up there, too. They'll turn 13 and 14 this year. I just told my DH that in dog years, they're older than us!

We lost our almost 14 year old miniature schnauzer in Jan. Our 10 year old Maltese/Lhasa Apso mix was so depressed and never fully recovered from losing his brother and we lost him two months later. It was a rough few months.
