or maybe just a binkie I dont know. :confused3

I kept losing all my kitchen towels and I couldnt figure out where they kept disappearing to. Well tonight I found them, in a stash behind the chair, she has been stealing them off of the oven handle and sucking on them.

Whats up with that? :confused3

Sounds just like Mabel!!!!....I used to have---no joke---about 100 dish towels.....I am lucky to have 15 now!!! Have found them hiden in various places around the house.....

Awwwww! The pups miss their mamas. :(

This is a fairly new development. I think maybe its seperation anxiety?

I know my doggie gets bored sometimes and that's when he starts doing his little destructive behaviors....just busted him scratching the wall in the kitchen (again)... :guilty:

Our goofy lab seems to calm himself by gumming a crate mat (we call it his rug) - the fakey sheepskin kind of material. Definitely a binky kind of thing I guess :) . He's never so much as put a hole in it, just wads it up between his front paws and "chews" on it. Many times we see his eyes closed but the mouth is still working his rug. Could it be something like that?
Oh - we first noticed this when he was around 4 I think....

Ha! My Doberman is 8 years old and loves his "suckie babies." If you don't watch it, he will take your pillow and suck away. It is really kinda cute. (Gross if he's gotten ahold of your pillow.)

Yep, my big old hound dog does that to her bed. She'll get a portion between her paws and make a teet and suck on it when she's anxious. Its funny and sad all at the same time.

Well at least mine isnt the only neurotic dog on the block. :rotfl:

If I ever learn to scan and post a photo, I could show you my little do Nicky with a pacifer in her mouth! No joke!

No way! I would love to see that :)

There are three damp towels wadded up under my desk right now:dog2:Minky strikes again!

Ted will do that with dish towels, but it's usually if DH has used it as a "bib" when he eats something in his recliner, so we think Ted is actually more licking off the remnants of whatever DH spilled on the towel rather than using it as a pacifier type thing.

Ted has a couple of fuzzy toys that he will do this too, though. He gets them between his front paws and sucks on them and sort of squeezes them with his front paws...it seems to relax him if he's feleing anxious, so he falls asleep. I seem to remember reading somewhere that it mimics the motions they had to do when they were puppies to get their mother's milk to come down when they wanted to feed, so it's a comfort thing.

Minky does this with his Pink Baby(bear) and Pink Bunny. It looks stupid because he's a ferocious 75lb black poodle

At least your guys stick to towels.

I quite often find my unmentionables in Chloe's toy box. This means that she's dropped it off for safe keeping, and traded it for a traditional woobie.

The embarrassing thing is, I know her routine. If someone rings the doorbell, or knocks on the door, she goes to it with something hanging out of her mouth. I found a bra in their yesterday when I returned home. Lord only knows which stranger saw that little episode.

She doesn't chew on them (thank goodness - that's just beyond disgusting), she just "collects" them. She does the same thing with my shoes and socks. If I can't find something, I have to check her toybox. :sad2:
