:( We have a 4 year old Doberman. His name is Jack and he is such a sweet dog. Loves people, and once you pet him, he is your friend forever. One morning noticed a bump side of his face. The next morning, he just seemed lathargic, not himself. So I took him to the vet. Not sure what it was, put him in imflamatory med and antibiotics. A week later, not better, now having difficulty opening his mouth. Back to the vet, where they dx. him with Masticatory Myositis. Which is a immune disorder, where is immune system is attacking itself. Put him on 200mg of Predisone a day. Next day, bump gone on his face, but is now a drinking & peeing machine. Urinary problem not better getting worse, we are trying another med while weaing him off the presdisone . Still not himself, not eating hardly at all, he dribbles when he lays around. So I have a lot of plastic bags and towels laying around. He is up every hour at night wanting to go out. I just want my dog back...poor baby.. They say he will be fine once med is regulated. But what a long process.
Thanks for listening.

That's a shame, Denise. Do hope Jack is back to himself soon. Always a bummer seeing our buddies hurting like that. I bet he will do just great in the days ahead. :hug:

:hug: It is very frustrating trying to get meds just right.

Hope your furbaby is feeling better soon.

Gosh--I hate hearing that. I hope he's doing better soon--glad the bump is gone--hopefully he is back to normal soon. Poor Baby

I hope Jack will be ok!! I got a soft spot for Dobies,I have 2 and I know what big babies they can be! Please keep us posted on how he's doing.

Poor pooch:( I'ts so hard when our pets are sick as they can't talk to us & tell us what hurts:(

{{HUGS}}

:hug: I know how you feel - I've been there so many times with my "babies". It kills you when they can't speak to you and tell you where it hurts or what you can do to make them feel better.

Don't worry though - I've had pups with autoimmune disorders (heck, I have one myself ;) ) and once the medicine is regulated they are back to normal - maybe even better than before.

Take care and hang in there
