Tin-foil :earseek: he went in the garbage and pulled it out and ate it cuz it had tonites dinner on it....can that reallt damage his insides or make him Real sick?? This is another dog I have...not the one in my sig.

Of course anything COULD cause a problem but my dogs current & past, have eaten just about EVERYTHING even a LIGHTBULB (Belle my Dobie) She's passed on since but it certainly wasn't that that did her in!

Just keep an eye out... I'm sure he'll just pass it!

Christine

Just watch his um *potty* for the next 24 hours. If he passes it, or just has normal poop he should be okay.

My dogs have eaten some weird things and they're okay.

Okay you gave me the perfect thread to rant for a minute...

My little pain in the butt dogs, jumped on the table, got my lunch box, unzipped it and ate my chocolate chip scone. These scones are sooooo hard to find, and then the #@*%& dogs ate it!!!

Okay, that helped...I am starting to feel better. Thanks for starting this thread.

At least they have good taste in desserts. ;)

How much did he eat?

He should be fine. Just watch his stool and any change in appetite.

just watch it :) my dog ate a bunch of glitter crayons once.. and you're all dying to know that her poop was glittery the nxt day. :teeth:

OMG what is it with crayons... I walked in on all three of mine just going at a 24 box of Crayolas the other day - at least they are non-toxic!

YIKES! I hope that your pup is alright. Keep an eye on him.

Yeah, my dog ate a road flare and she turned out just fine. :teeth:

Monty Dog has eaten :
Rocks
Entire tree limbs
dirt, grass, flowers, mulch you name it; if it's outdoors in the yard, he's tried it!
At least 2 mass market sized paperback novels
The binding off of a $75 coffee table book
a nickel (he did manage to pass it)
a packet of silica gel (we rushed him to the emergency vets and after a $200 after hours visit, they told us he'd be just fine)
crayons (= rainbow poop)
1/2 a plate of cookies
and
some hair scrunchies

He's just fine. Never had a problem and has managed to pass everything. Obviously the ingestion of a foriegn object should never be taken lightly but most dogs have stomachs of steel and can tolerate far more than we can. My rule of thumb is usually make sure he poops before he goes to bed for the night. :teeth:

I have one yorkie that will do anything to eat a Q-tip....I don't get it :confused3 He's done it enough that you'd think he'd recall how much it hurt going through & coming out the other end...numerous times!!! It comes out the way it went in. It really scares me though & occasionally I still see one & I can't figure how he got to it. He needs to go to Q-tips anonymous. :rotfl2:

"Rocks" Watch those. I know a friends dog that died because he wouldn't stop eating those. Fuinaly was too heavy for his insides.

:rotfl:

I hope no harm is done.

one of my professors dog ate a plastic shopping bag once.

Funny this thread re-surfaced, because Monty was just caught eating the end off his bandana...

That Q-tip story is a riot...Maybe they are really yummy, and we just don't know.

Tonight, I bought Scottie Biscotti for my pooches at Target. I have never seen dogs go at a dog treat more hungrily. You'd think it was the best thing ever...they don't even go at meat this way...

A few years ago, my dogs ate multi-colored gravel from the bottom of an old fish tank we had sitting around in the basement. They had very pretty poop the next day!

One of them developed a metal fetish about 2 years ago and will eat earrings, screws, zippers and snaps off of clothing, twist ties, basically anything metal! And lately, she's started with buttons, too.

I don't have a dog..but I DO have a cat that will do ANYTHING to eat the red strings that come around bologna. And Q-tips. I don't know why. I just have to watch her if I know she's eaten a bologna string..I look for poop-on-a-rope in the litterbox.

Monty and my Sam (a Yellow Lab mix) must be soul mates. There's nothing - and I mean NOTHING - that Sam hasn't tried to eat. You'd think that we starve him. We don't have babies anymore, but our house is baby-proofed because of Sam. We're on a first-name basis with the vet.

I'd tell you the story about the box of diapers, but it's really too gross. :crazy2:

And don't get me started on why we had to switch to all liquid soap products. Let's just say that I don't think that Sam's tongue was what Lever 2000 had in mind when they created their list of "2000 parts."

Then there was the time that Sam decided that he hated his favorite stuffed toy and ripped it up - then ate every bit of the 600 lbs of cotton batting that it was stuffed with. That didn't turn out so well for him.

But he's very very very picky about what kind of dog food that he likes.

One of my dogs ate the red wax wrapping on mini bonbell cheese. It was a mess - got stuck in his fur around his mouth. Wax is not very digestable...it came out in the same form it went in.
