We will have two children with birthdays while at DLR! If we want to attend the My DisneyLand Birthday Party at Plaza Inn, do I need to pay for my husband and myself even if we don't want cake, etc? Or could we just pay for the two birthday kiddos?

You have to pay for everyone attending the party regardless if you eat the cake, lemonade, etc. Children 2 and under are free.

When we did this for my nephew we had to pay for all attending. This was March 2010.

Is this mainly something for little kids?

My DD turns 13 on our trip. Last year we surprised her with a WDW trip, dinner at Hoop de Doo (her favorite), and a gorgeous mini cake. This trip isn't a surprise, but I still want to make it special. The only cakes that I've seen mentioned don't sound that great. What can I do that will really make her "I'm a Teenager Now" birthday a wonderful memory?

My DS was 3 when we did the party. Personally I think it is more for little kids but we are all kids at heart, right. Heck, I think my husband enjoyed decorating the cake more than the kids did. :)

Is your DD into princesses? You could do a meal at Ariel's Grotto and order a cake in advance.

When my daughter turned 17 we went to Disneyland. I didn't tell her about any of the plans that I had made for her. She likes surprises.

I ordered the personal size birthday cake from the Disney Dine line and had it brought out during our dinner at Carnation Cafe. They will deliver to any sit down restaurant. It was delicious, and probably could feed 6? Maybe more.

We also did the Character Breakfast at Plaza Inn. Loved this. We got the 7:30 seating and some really great shots of the castle with noone else but us. The characters here are so attentive. I'm so glad we did this.

We also rode the Lilly Belle. This is the special railroad car that Walt designed for his wife. That's all that I can think of now; it's been a couple of years.
