Wow... I can't believe that I've been married for 46 days!

Our wedding was absolutely perfect. Over the past month, I keep hearing from people that it was the most beautiful, perfect wedding that they have ever attended. It's bittersweet to remember it... I'm SO glad that it's over and I don't have to wreck my brain with planning or craft activities, but it's also strange to think that after all the planning, it's over and it isn't coming back.

As a bride who, up until 1 WEEK before the wedding, adamantly REFUSED to hire a videographer, I'm SO glad that I did end up calling someone... and I'm SO lucky that they were still available with only a week's notice. If any of you are thinking of having a wedding in Atlanta or the surrounding area and want a low-budget (but not cheesy or poor quality film) videographer, PM me and I'll give you their contact info. Bottom line here: even if you detest the sound of your voices ( as both my DH & I do), you can watch the ceremony on "mute" and still really enjoy it. I've watched it too many times to count within the time we've had it (several weeks).

If you're having a "Disney Wedding" at home and are searching for ideas, please know that I was in your boat and "invented" most ideas myself. I'm more than willing to walk you through ideas that I came up with (from etching into glass candle-vases to making bows to making other table decorations to designing and making my aisle runner AND designing the wedding cake and groomscake myself), feel free to PM me and ask questions... I've definitely been in your boat and survived!

As I'm not "privileged" to post links to my wedding pictures, I'll spell it.

Oh... and as a recent honeymooner, I DO NOT recommend cruising w/ Carnival. Though we were upgraded to the best floor (top of the ship with a picture window), we were going CRAZY with the "Carnival Colors" competition going on throughout the ship. EVERY event (with the exception of the slot machines) revolved around "What color team are you on?". Now, if you're a naturally competitive person, then this is probably the cruise for you. However, if you just like to enjoy activities WITHOUT the competition (even broadcast by the Maitre'D at dinner), then I wouldn't recommend it. I used to love Carnival... but now... goodness... I think I'll have to go with Disney. Not that I mind that

Questions? Comments? let me know :bitelip:

Congrats on getting married! :cheer2: I'd really love to check out your pics...especially because I'm trying to figure out a way to do my own aisle runner...but i couldn't get the website to come up.

Congratulations on your marriage!! I was not able to access the pictures though :confused3

Thanks for the info on Carnival, too, I'd heard it was more of a party ship. DH and I went on Royal Caribbean for the second part of our honeymoon after Disney (we affectionately call the cruise our "Non-Disney Honeymoon") and we loved it! It was our first cruise and we're going again for our first anniversary. DH refuses to do a Disney cruise unless we have kids to bring along  and that will probably be a long time!

Congratulations again!!

Yeah, we're hesitant to do Disney without kids... thanks for the info on RCCL though :thumbsup2

I did a Disney Cruise a couple of years ago (3 day) with just my boyfriend and I (i.e. no kids) and it was great! Disney, I think, understands that there is a market for people without kids (or just adults who want adult time) so they arrange it so you never actually see them! There is a 18+ pool area, the spa is 18+, as well as the clubs after 10 p.m. They do the seating for adults for dinner at 8 pm (so there are no kids) with the earlier show (also no kids) Castaway Cay even as an adult only beach. So basically you won't ever actually see kids! As long as you dont' mind the lack of casino, I thought it was great. The cabins were much larger than normal standards and the food was really great. There is an adult only restraunt called Palo's which was amazing. I highly recommend it, even if you don't have kids!

I wondered about that- thanks Stitchbride!

What a beautiful wedding, you both look so happy. Congratulations

Congratulations! It looks like everyone had fun - especially you and your DH ;)

Thanks :goodvibes

My florist thought I was absolutely insane  for going with red & white. It's funny... she's done bouquets for years and years and hadn't ever done red & white before. She was afraid it would be too bold and always discouraged people from using it. Red is always my signature color however, and there wasn't anything she could do to stop me.

She ended up really liking it though, and gave me a surprise. Instead of the orchids, I was supposed to have stephanotis... but the stephanotis didn't arrive on time, so she gave me the white orchids instead :thumbsup2

I'm drying the bouquets/boutonnieres/corsages myself... it took 3 trips to Michaels craft stores to buy enough silica gel... I can't wait to see it when it's finished :bounce: ... my florist told me to leave it alone for 3 months... AHHHH the temptation!

Ohhh.... and for our exit music, we played Zip-a-dee-doo-dah... it was great- I didn't want the traditional wedding music, so we went with all Disney.

FYI if anyone is interested, The Travel Channel is airing its special on The DCL tonight. 7:00 pm and 2:00 am Eastern time. I am planning to watch. I want to go on a Disney cruise so badly, but my BF is always looking at other options too.

Amanda,
What a beautiful day! Thanks for sharing your pictures. I love how Mary Emma took her flower girl job so seriously in all the pictures.

What were the Mickey-head cutout pictures? Were they of you and Tommy? Did you cut them by hand?

MaryEmma was a doll throughout the rehearsal and the wedding. She'd initially started to carry her bouquet at her waist, but then I asked her if they smelled good and she decided that she wanted to smell them all the way down :flower3:

The mickey head cutout pictures ended up being the most talked about decoration at my wedding. I took pictures of Tommy & I growing up (as well as some engagement photos) and printed wallet sized photos & used the mickey punch to punch the pictures :)

The balloon release--what a cool idea!! And everyone blowing bubbles while you two danced--how sweet!!!
Congratulations and pixie dust on your Happily Ever After!!!
