My Disney throws...w/pics

Welcome to the Cooking, Crafting, Scrapping board! Thank you for sharing those adroabale throws with us! I don't sew & know very little about sewing ... do you buy the fleece with the stitching around the edge or do you have to stitch around the edge yourself?

Your throws came out GREAT. I will have to try and make some myself. Thanks for sharing such a great idea with everyone :flower:

Very neat! Welcome to our neck of the woods (or boards hee hee) I love that idea! I will have to try it. Thanks for sharing! :)

Welcome!!! Love the throws. I am going to have to make one for my dgd who will be 3 this month. She would love one. Did HL have any princess appliques?

Oh wow, what a great idea! I love how yours came out and instantly thought "great Christmas present." You could also add iron on letters to monogram to personalize them!

I was just thinking the same thing! Super cute, and they could be easily personalized. Thanks for sharing foxfire!!

wow that is just an iron on? I thought maybe you had one of those fancy surge sewing machines! What a great gift idea! I might even be able to handle that! I actually know the stitch you did on the outside, my one and only embrodery skill!
Thanks for sharing!

Those are just too cute! And right up my alley- easy and inexpensive! ;)

What a great idea! Love them!
Welcome to this board. Feel free to share any more of your brilliant ideas!!!

We are going to WDW for a surprise Christmas gift to our kids. There are 8 of us going and I am making goody bags. This will put the finishing touches on my treats. Thanks so much for sharing. FYI...I went to two Hobby Lobby's today and one did not have a good selection at all and the other one had tons on clearance for .99. Thanks again for the idea.

Thank you all so much again for welcoming me so warmly to this board and thank you for all the nice things you've said about my project!

I'm sorry I haven't been back sooner to answer the new questions. I have a sick kitty and that has been kept me away from the computer. I'll try to answer the questions now. I hope I haven't missed any but, if I have, please remind me and I promise to answer.

I thought I would mention my trial and error experience when I was ready to put the appliques on and it might be of help. I found out that following instructions for the iron on appliques didn't work for me. If I put my iron on the heat setting for fleece, that wasn't hot enough to make the applique adhere. I turned it to the very highest setting and that worked. I applied heat for close to the recommended time but kept checking to make sure I wasn't scorching the fleece. I also used a pressing cloth as suggested.

The fleece throws came with the stitching already done around the edge. I really like that they have a more finished look that way and I doubt I would have had time to do that myself. I was looking for fast, easy, and inexpensive when I went searching for my materials! :teeth:

My HL had all the princesses in stock and they were so pretty. I think a throw with a princess iron on would be beautiful! :flower:

Personalizing them would be an extra special touch and would look really nice! I noticed HL had several sizes and colors of iron on letters and different styles, too. It would be very easy and quick to do iron on letters! :)

As soon as I can find the time, I want to come here and read about all of your projects. You all sound like a very talented group and I know I can learn so much from all of you! :flower:

If anyone makes a throw, please post a picture. I would love to see it! :lovestruc

No HL here. Someone let me know if you see them at a Joann's or Hancock fabric store ( or Michaels or AC Moore ).

What a great idea and and awesome job! I'm really impressed.

Wow! Those are great! Welcome to the CCS boards!

You should post your pictures up in the "gallery" thread that is stuck on the top of the board! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=957923

That way even long after this thread has ended, your pictures will still be there to inspire new crafters! :)

I am not very crafty at all and you have made me think about Christmas presents and I have done 3 of them and just bought 2 more throws for 3 each and am going to make 2 more! These are so cute and really came out well. I had one iron on of Mickey and just orded a bunch more off e-bay goofy, mission space and some Chr :goodvibes istmas ones with mickey and the gang. I feel so happy that I have created something and it was so easy. I do do scrapbooking but now I feel I can do other things as well, also made a lot of the wdw shirts for our trips.THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
