First off I must say that I love this forum. I am a big time Disney fan, I have gone just under 10 times and plan on going about another 10 more! To start off I want to introduce myself. My name is Danielle Morgia. I am a mother of 4 beautiful boys whose ages are 16, 13, 8, and 8(twins). I live in New York and take a long 22 hour trip to Walt Disney World either ever year or every two years, it all depends on my husband and I's budget. My first trip was with just my husband and I, we had a wonderful time. But it was a million times better when I could live it though my kids. Just to see their faces when they see everything for the first time is worth anything in the world to me. As a complete family we went a few times, but then had to wait a few years before going again. WE had built a house since our old one just coudn't fit all six of us plus a dog(Whose name is Disney). I was very hard on myself because of how much I love it and how much I know my kids love it.

P.S. just curious, who is your favorite Disney character? Mine is Mickey hands down. I absolutely LOVE him when he does Fantasmic, that's my favorite show as well.
-Thanks to all who read this :)

Welcome to the dis! It's great that you can share disney with your children. Are you planning a trip any time soon? My favorite disney character...that's a tough one. I love mickey of course and Captain Jack Sparrow! :lovestruc

Welcome! I totally get what you're saying about trips to Disney. I've been going to Disney since I was 12. I'm 40 now. I've been many times before my dh, and a few times with him before we had kids. Now we have two girls: a 7 1/2 year old and a 4 year old and each time we go, I love seeing it all over again through their eyes! My oldest has been twice and my youngest has been once already. We live in NY as well and did the drive once. Though my dh is not exactly chomping at the bit to do that drive again. He'd rather wait and save for the airfare and do it that way.

My favorite Disney character - Wow! That is tough! Of course I love Mickey and Minnie. I would have to say I love Chip and Dale and Winnie the Pooh and the rest from the Hundred Acre Wood.

First things first....welcome to Disboards. You'll soon find that we are all a bunch of Disney lovers!

The first time we went to Disney, we had absolutely no idea that we would fall in love with the place. On our first trip, our son was just 1 and our daughter was just 11. They are now 22 and 12 and have 14 trips under their belt.

We live in West Monroe, Louisiana and our drive takes anywhere between 14 to 16 hours. Quite a drive.

As far as my favorite Disney character....whew...that's hard. But, I guess if I had to choose just one, it'd be the big cheese himself...Mickey Mouse.

We just got back from our 14th trip to Disney and I am already planning our 15th.

I wrote a trip report from our 2008 surprise trip and, if I do say so myself, it's a pretty fun read. The trip report from our 2009 trip is a work in progress. The links for both are below. I hope you'll come onboard. You'll find that I have a lot of really nice readers. We've become quite good friends. We'd love for you to join us.

Welcome to the boards! My favorite character would have to be Mickey or Woody.

When I was a little girl in the 50s (no age guessing, please!) I would watch the Mickey Mouse Club and then when Disneyland opened I thought I'd never make it all the way to the west coast to actually get to go. (I grew up in WV). It was my dream to always go, but then WDW opened in 1974 in FL and I knew I might just make that one. I went with my family in 1975 for the first time and I have loved it ever since. I haven't been as often as I would like but I have been. From 1981 until 2000 I was hiatis and then in 2000 I took my DS, then 10, and we did a 4 day trip. He had a great time and we just keep returning. Next year I am planning on introducing my grandniece to WDW - she'll be 5 and I can't wait! :goodvibes

Hi! I'm new too. :) I love the excitement and joy that this board seems to have. I still remember being 10 years old, hearing my mom on the phone with my aunt talking about house sitting for my uncle in Florida and hearing her whisper "Disney World." For a little Michigander who had never been further from home than Ohio, that was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard! Seventeen years later, I still feel that same excitement whenever we plan a trip (which, no matter how hard we try to go other places, ends up being about every year or two!).
