My Disney Soulmate

We are having dinner at our friends house. Having fun as usual when someone mentions Disney. My DH starts in on how I am a little too commando for his tastes when it comes to Disney. Then my friend's DH says does she do this- and disappears into his room. He returns with a laminated schedule of daily events- including parade times, meal times and ride order. I felt like I was looking into the eyes of my Disney soulmate! He gets it!!! He is the one that makes the schedule. He plans the dinners. He researches which snack is the best to try. aaaaah my disney dream man...........

Just for the record, you are pretty much describing me. Although after more than 100 trips to WDW, I don't need to laminate anything. My wife doesn't quite have the same zeal for WDW that I do. Often, it's just me and my daughter that go. We try to make it up there once a month.

As readers of this post are now forming a mental image of me, and possibly concluding that I am like the Disney Tattoo guy... I'm actually very low-key about my favorite passtime. Believe it or not, I own only two pieces of Disney clothing (a hat and a sweatshirt bought on seperate trips due to failure to properly pack - should have laminated, I guess.) But, there's few places I'd rather be than in a Disney park. It's one part escapism and one part having very special times with my daughter.

Reading all this I had a thought... I wonder if there is some sort of Disney dating service? If not, there should be! At least if you met and fell in love on a site like that you know you'd never argue over where to go on vacation!

Your post is very interesting. I had always wanted to go to WDW since the first day it opened, but never made it until I was 45 years old (1999). That first trip was better than I ever could have imagined. We since have taken three more trips, and I have wondered if after each if I would finally become used/jaded/bored of the whole Disney thing. Yet, each trip is unique and special, and I return home and immediately start planning the next trip. After this next trip, there are some trips we need to make (Yellowstone next August, and Italy Spring 2007), but Disney will be back.

I really think I've become hooked on Disney, but I'm concered if at some point it will get "old." So, one question after so many trips to Disney, what keeps your interest up?

He's probably a lot of Diser's soulmate ! I like being the planner! My DH just goes along with whatever I plan . If he made plans and I made my special little plans then a power struggle would surely ensue . I don't think a marriage could take 2 WDW planners although the idea does sound appealing .
