My Disney room - in progress photos

I Love It! What a fantastic room! I hope you and your family share countless happy hours enjoying your mini Disney World.

That's a fun family project! I'm sure you'll enjoy it for years!

That is so cool! What are the dimensions of the room? It seems really big, or you are just really good at utilizing your space!
Really creative, and really awesome! Can't wait to see updated versions!

one thing it took me a little while to learn was just because it is the internet -doesn't mean it doesn't hurt
After I really got my feelings hurt a few times when someone posted something I realized that there is a real person on the other side of that computer.
Also -unkind remarks last out here in cyberspace forever. Years from now someone can do a google search and find my snarky remarks.

I see posts on the disboards all the time about "matters of taste"
Peoples decorating, their clothing, tattoos- some things that I would never go for in a million years -but I refrain from posting my opinions. It would serve no real purpose -and would just hurt their feelings.

Oh no, doesn't hurt my feelings. Thank you clarabelle for sticking up for me anyway. We just laugh about what people say when they see it. I just figure people think "ummm...ok. Those people are nuts!" It's just for fun and its not like it is our main level living room or something. We also have a 4 year old and he LOVES it.

Absolutely amazing!!! Great job!!! :thumbsup2 So how did you get the train track up there? I have wanted to do this for my DS's room, but DH is a bit hesitant about the track.
We used L brackets and some kind of mounting board. We were originally going to use furring strips or some kind of thin wood. You could use a thick foam core too. I didn't really want the train that was DHs department.

It is 20 something feet x 20 something feet. Probably the size of a medium living room. It is larger than my downstairs living room actually. It is surprising how much you can put in when you have no TV stand or sofa.

Wow! What a fun project! I thought I had a "Disney" room when I put our mouse ears on a self, lol.

Wow, you are sure putting a lot of work into that room. It is really amazing though. I especially love the teacup "chair"!!

Wow! Great job- can't wait to see it when it is finished!!

Hi, PiperPizzaz's "DH", as I guess I am known here. ;)

We actually used corner braces for the track with a material called 'gatorfoam'. Used double-sided foam tape to attach the gator to the braces. I figured we could get away with that, since the train is very light, but even with that lack of weight, the gatorfoam is a little flimsy, so I would probably do it with wood if I were to do it all over again.

The gator is nice, though, as you can cut it with an X-acto blade, so you can modify it how you need easily. The challenge was the open areas (over the steps, etc.) where there are no walls to attach the corner braces. We wound up using a screw-in O-hook in the ceiling, and then attached chain around the bottom of the gator to suspend the bridge. Looks pretty good, can be easily removed (a big key for us), and was inexpensive (another big key for us).

Like my wife said, it's still a work in progress, but we appreciate the kind words. :)
