Although this was a only a small part of our recent trip home :-). It was the most magical. I can't begin to describe how wonderful this event was for my daughter and I. I truly encourage any of you with little princess out there to try to plan this event for your next vacation. The smiles on my daughter's face during the tea was priceless. ::MinnieMo

Plus where and how? I haven't heard this yet, but then again I haven't bought my "plan to plan" WDW for our trip home in November.

I've heard of the Wonderland Tea Party at the Grand Floridian and it was wonderful. What's this Princess Tea Party?

I am so glad to hear this was magical! I am taking dd and my Mom in May. I am sooooo excited!!!

Ya, but did you see the price $$$$$ :earseek: $200 US funds. I'm considering it, but dd has outgrown her Belle gown. I thought of just dressing her up pretty and then she can wear the tiera she gets from the party? She looked at it and was bummed that she doesn't have a "real" princess dress. I told her "Do you think the "real" princesses wear dress up clothes?" I'm hoping that will convince her. She is 6 and a half and I really wonder how much longer she'll dress up, but I also don't want her to miss out on a REAL TEA PARTY WITH A PRINCESS. How often in life does one experience that!? princess:

So what do ya all think? Is it worth the price? You do get an "American Girl" princess aurora doll with accessories... I think this would be a lifelong memory. I need the voices of reason to tell me it's either worth it or not? Although this may not be the place to get a "non judgemental" opinion :earsgirl: Hee hee as your all Disney freaks like me

I did see the price. However, every single review I have read about this said it was well worth the price. Supposedly the best part of the trip for everyone. You can get a really nice princess dress at www.littledressupshop.com for much cheaper than the "real" ones. They have a beautiful Belle dress for around $29.

Thank you so much for posting a recent experience. I have his reserved for Mother's Day and I can't wait to see how my 5 year old reacts. She loved the Wonderland Tea Party last February!

I have read that Princess Aurora only makes a very brief appearance. The tea is more about the other woman(sorry can't think of her name now) and she tells stories and sings for most of the time. Can you maybe elaborate how long Sleeping Beauty was there. She is my dd's all time favorite princess and would love a chance to see her again in a special setting.

This is one thing I am hoping and praying we are able to do! We don't go until september of this year!
Last update on debs site said it was running through at least the end of january, but here we are half way through feb, and i just read your posts that many of you have resies for this on mothers day etc...
hopefully they have had such a great response to it, that it is going to stay!

My little princess will be soooo awestruck! If we can't do this while we are there, I highly doubt we will do the mad hatter tea thing, as it just couldnt possibly compare!

Anyone know if you use the same # to make resies for this that you do for priority seatings? And any word on how long this is going to be around?

Thanks!
Gabby

I made priority seating reservations for this just yesterday. According to the CM, it's a hit. And will probably be around for a few years...?

Anyhow, despite the price of $200US dollars "I'm in" She is 6 & a half. How much longer do we get to play make believe in this world?

DD20 year old is just a bit too old for that now, maybe grandbabies in a few years to spoil with this...But I'm making memories now before I bling and DD6 is 20 too.

Life is just too short. :lovestruc

Just curious as to what she told you to wear?

We had the great opportunity to go to the Perfectly Princess Tea Party in October. Tried for weeks and weeks to get in because the decision to continue still had not been made at that time. IT WAS SO WORTH IT!. My DD who was almost 4 throughly enjoyed the music, singing, dancing and of course, visiting with her favorite princess at the time, Aurora. Aurora was there for quite a while and visited each child twice as well as pic opportunities and a few individual minutes of chat. My dd was in awe. I cried.
She sang and repeated much of what was done throughout our trip and still does. The doll was worth it and she loves to play with it. The narrator, Rose Petal was amazing and so engaging. I highly encourage anyone with princesses of their own to experience this amazing time. princess:

She said that most little ones like to dress up in their princess costumes. She didn't tell me specifically what to wear, but she said "Sunday best." She said to think of it like an elegant, special, ladies tea. I will probably wear a sundress. My Mom is making dd a special princess dress.

The My very expensive Princess Tea Party :rotfl2: and the Wonderland Tea Party.

Almost everyone was dressed up in a Disney Princess costume for the "Expensive" Princess Tea Party. So if you can pick up a costume on sale (usually half price after Halloween, go for it). Costumes were everything really, the Winter Belle (in Red), Jasmine, Tinkerbelle, Sleeping Beauty, just about one or 2 of everything.

It was lovely. Only regret was wished my daughter - 6 had a friend or sister to go with her.

Oh, and getting shots into the window, cause of the backlight, didn't work too well. So if you need to get up, and move for a better picture, you can. I just didn't think to ask.

I think it was worth the money, at least once. Memories for a lifetime and all that. However, if you were on a budget, your child would probably enjoy the wonderland tea party as well (it's like $35ish verses $200 USD). The trade off is that you, the parent, don't get to see all the fun.

Warning - getting to the GF can be a challenge, and you need to be there 15 minutes early to sign paperwork. My suggestion is to either cab it, or valet park. I paid the $8, but on retrospect I wonder if they would waive it with the DDE card????

I took my DD Grace who is 4 and my Mom last Friday. I debated long and hard about the $200 + for the tea party. When I first saw it last year I thought that someone would have to be nuts to spend that much but then I started to see reviews for it. I am really glad that I did it. Grace was so excited and talked about it all week and still talks about having tea with Sleeping Beauty.

Most of the girls were in Princess costumes but I saw one in a Princess nightgown (I hope it was intentional and she just didn't get out of bed late :) ) and a few that were not dressed up at all.

This is from the trip report that I wrote for another group I am in. I am not new to The Dis but this is my first post.

Grace wore her Sleeping Beauty princess dress I bought her on my last trip. She has only worn it a few times at home under close supervision, it is too pretty and too pricey for regular dress up! The Princess party was really nicely run. Grace was given a card with her name on it and the table number we were assigned. We waited in line, Grace presenter her card and she was announced to Rose Petal as Princess Grace and then showered with real rose petals as she walked through the door. Mom and I her not so royal family followed behind, no rose petals for us. At her seat was a My Disney Doll in a Sleeping Beauty dress exactly like the one that Grace was wearing. There was also a place card for Grace and tucked in her napkin was a charm bracelet. Rose Petal told the story of herself with drama and flare. We were served tea, the real stuff for the grown ups and apple juice for the kids. Grace got into her tea. She had several refills. I had some tea and watched Grace use a spoon try as I might to get her to use the teacup properly she wanted it with a spoon. Why not, she is a Princess! Rose Petal came around and signed autographs and took pictures and then told more stories Baron Branch also came around and offered to take requests. Grace went up to the piano and asked for A Whole New World and the words were not entirely out of her mouth when he started the song. Tea was served. Grace got a cool plate with grapes 2 small PB&J sandwiches cut into the shape of a heart and 2 little triangles of ham and cheese. She ate one of each. I got a plate with 2 triangles of cream cheese with nuts mixed in, egg salad and some seafood thing. I took one bite of that and wanted to spit it out. Did I mention anywhere that I am a picky eater. I didn’t eat much mostly the grapes and eyed Graces uneaten PB&J heart, could I sneak it? Would I be noticed? Would Grace mind, after all we were at the Princess Tea and I was supposed to be on my best manners, snitching food from ones child’s plate probably doesn’t come under best manners. I left the sandwich alone. Not to worry, they brought cake. When we went into the room there was an enormous pink frosted cake with a large image of the princesses done I chocolate. I thought it was for show but the actually cut it. It certainly beat the stuff they served to me for tea! By this time Sleeping Beauty herself arrived and the girls all curtsied and she taught them to dance and swish their dresses. Grace followed her around like she was real which to Grace she is. Then Sleeping Beauty came to each girl and presented her with a real rose and signed autographs and took pictures. They gave us a card thanking up and directed us to the gift shop upstairs. We were given a certificate for the doll and a scrapbook kit but not a full scrapbook kit like they sell this was a lot less but still cute.

Oh Man, I'm so excited. It sounds wonderful, and I almost cried when you told of the rose petals tossed as they announce her.

My DD Natalie is 6 and a half. Her "Princess Dress" is too small :sad2: BUT I do have a dress she will be wearing to an upcoming wedding. I was nervous thinking it may be too much or get dirty? Sunday best? For Mommy & Daddy too? A Sundress sounds like a good idea.

I wish there is a way to capture this on film. Oh wait! We have a video camera. I'm not going to say anything about the rose petals tossed in the air as she is announced, we'll just have the camera on and rolling.

I'm just way too excited :Pinkbounc

Thanks, I"m glad I decided to cancel a couple of dinner reservations in lieu of this. Sounds like it's going to be worth it.

Were staying at BCV's any idea on time travelling? I know it starts at 10:30, so if were out at the bus stop by 9:30 do you think that would give us enough time to get there?
