Hi, I am thinking of booking this for my daughter, however it seems very expensive. I was wondering if anyone had been to it recently and how did they find it?

We went at Christmas time 2004. It was wonderful and worth every penny. Here we are over a year later and my DD5 (4 at the time) asks all the time about doing it again.

If you break it down a little it may not seem so expensive for the experience itself.
Here it is somewhat broken down:

Icluded:
*My Disney Girl Doll and Sleeping Beuty doll outfit $45 plus
*charm braclet $5
*scrapbook supplies $7
*tiara $5
*wonderful food and tea maybe $20

The whole experience is $200 for one adult and one girl.

$200 minus around $82 give or take is $59 a person for the experience alone. I think that makes it sound more reasonable. They do walk away with a beautiful doll! and the experience is magical. I held back tears a lot of the time. The singing and ambience are incredible. The main singer sang all kinds of princess songs and took requests. The music was not recorded but played by a wonderful pianist.

*these are my estimates

The picture in my Sig is of my DD riding on the monorail after the Tea party. I would do it again in a heartbeat if they changed the doll!

Have fun whatever you decide! :goodvibes

Interested to hear other views on this... it is a lot of money to spend! Also I would have to think of a way to make it up to my other DD who would probably not want to do this LOL.

I did this with my dd (4) last June and it was good and we had a lovely time, however.....the food was naff...Amy did not like the s'wich combination (i.e peanut butter and jelly and some other interesting combinations!!!!) and Amy wanted to see all the princesses not just sleeping beauty, which you only get the meet at the end as the main presenter is Rose Petal - the experience was good and it was lovely to see the Grand Floridian (would love to stay there when I win the lottery!!!) but not sure I would do it again, due to cost....will try the character b'fast at the castle next time...

I was considering this for my neice joely, or even jordan, any more info

Although this experience does sound lovely, it is quite expensive - especially if you have more than one child to take along or find an alternative for! :teeth:

For less than a quarter of the price, the Grand Floridian also do The Wonderland Tea Party hosted by Alice and the Mad Hatter. This is for children only - no grown-ups allowed (except CM's ;) ) and children get a snack and a small gift. :goodvibes

DD has not taken part in this yet - I'm going to book it for her for our next trip. Although I can't comment personally, this does get good reviews here on the Dis.! :thumbsup2

Hope this helps!

We did that last spring and it was awesome! My DD5 and my DS8 both loved it! They got to decorate cupcakes and play games. They both want to do it again this year. Very worth it! I think it was around $30 per child.

It is more of fun event than elegant. The My Disney Girl Tea Party is something you get dressed up for and show your best manners where as the Mad Tea Party is more relaxed and you don't get dressed up for it.

You can't go wrong with either one. Both events are wonderful of course! It's Disney after all! :goodvibes

would a special neds child be able to take part? (jordan has down syndrome)

I don't see why not. If you are refering to taking her to the Princess Tea party that would be perfect because you could be right there with her. I'm not sure about the Wonderland tea party. Call 1-407-WDW-DINE and I'm sure they could tell you. :goodvibes
