My Disney Girl Princess...are they out of their minds????

I'd love to do this with my granddaughter ... we did a day in the American Girl Place in NYC last November ... BUT she doesn't need/want the Disney Girl doll as she already has an AG Doll ... so we won't be doing it.

And to the best of my knowledge the Disney Girl doll is an AG *knock-off*and not made by Pleasant Company ... the DG shoes don't fit the AG dolls and the DG clothes aren't a perfect fit either.

We went to the tea party on Friday, 8/20 and had a fabulous time. It is expensive, but I thought it was worth it. The event is very well done. It's very small and intimate and each girl gets a lot of attention. Rose Petal, Aurora, the musician (I can't remember his name, something Branch maybe?), and all the servers were excellent. I enjoyed the food as well. We didn't eat breakfast before hand and it was a nice, light lunch. My DD is 4 and though she won't always remember it, I know I will. As we were leaving, she asked me if we could do it again on our next trip. She has been re-enacting the story told by Rose Petal ever since the tea. I can hear her in the other room doing it right now. If you have the opportunity to go with your little princess, I would do it. I have no regrets.

Glad you had such a good time and that your DD is still reliving it!

I agree with your comment about you always remembering it even if she doesn't - that's been our answer when people have told us that our DD is too young to go the Disney full stop! Thank goodness for cameras - she'll be able to enjoy the photos for years.

I am considering doing it on our December trip. It will just be me and DD (6). Dad is deployed, so it would be a nice splurge. Is the doll cute? Also, and this is very important.....Does mom get a tiara too or just the child?

The doll is okay, nothing spectacular. One thing I did notice is that her hair is kind of nappy. Only the children get the tiaras. The tiaras are made of pearls, beads, and ribbons. The staff at the tea did a good job matching the tiaras to the colors of the little girls dresses. The bracelet is a charm bracelet like the type you can get at the hotel gift shops.
