Hi everyone! Our family is headed back to Disney in April and my DD and I are doing the "My Disney Girl Perfectly Princess Tea" at the Grand Floridian. We are super excited!! Just wanted to know if others have gone to this and what their experiences have been like. Also, I would love to see some pictures! :thumbsup2

Ooooooh, good choice! We went last October and it was fantastic - by far the best thing we've done at WDW! I'll see if I can upload some pics for ya - God knows I took enough! ;)

I'm trying to decided if I should book this for DD7. It's kind of expensive and we are doing MNSSHP and staying at Poly so our budget is stretched already. DO you think it's worth $200 for this Tea party. It looks cute but it seems you don't see Aurora that long. We have been to all the Princess meals before and thought she would definately like this. What kind of doll do you get? DD has 3 american girls already so trying to decide if tea is worth it:confused: thanks..

We did this in December 2005. My little one had a wonderful time!

Fionasmommy - Glad to hear you had a great time...can't wait to see your pics! By the way, your DD is beautiful! Did you go to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique? :wizard:

kaysmommie - I know what you mean...my DD is only 3...I was concerned about spending so much money and her not getting enough out of it because she's so young. My DH and I debated about this for a long time and decided to just do it...our DD loves princesses and I wanted to do something special with her...just the girls. I really don't know too much about the doll...it says a "Disney Girl doll" on the website...I hope its an American Girl doll for the price. My DD has the Bitty Twins and just loves them! :) By the way, we are staying at the Poly for the 1st time in April...we're really looking foward to it! :woohoo: Any good advice about staying there with young kids?

mdbehr - Thanks so much for the pics...they were wonderful! Your DD is adorable! :flower3: It looks likes she had a great time! I love the white gloves...they make her look so grown-up! Did most of the girls dress-up as Aurora or was there a variety of dresses? Did the adults wear jeans or get more dressed up? How did you like the food?

I wated to do this with DD so badly!! She said she was too old!!LOL She did the Grand Adventures in Cooking instead and had a ball. While I waited for her I got to see the Tea taking place. I was blown away!! It was so special and beautiful to watch. From seeing it I think it's a must do!! I wish DD would do it! Anyway, the Disney doll is NOT an American Girl doll. It's just a My Disney Girl doll they sell in the shops I have seen selling for I believe $50.

I just did it last month with my 5 year old birthday girl. Yes, it is CRAZY expensive, but it was her birthday, and she LOVED it. Here is an excerpt from my trip report.

The Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the Frand Floridian was just adorable. There were only about 20 girls there, mostly with their moms, all decked out in their Princess finery. Each girl was announced before entering the tea. She was given a tiara and showered with rose petals by our hostess, Rose Petal. When they got to their seats, there was a My Disney Girl doll (similar to American Girl) dressed as Sleeping Beauty awaiting each little girl. They were all so excited! Then when they opened up their napkins, each girl found a charm bracelet. “Ooooooh!” They were given “magic tea” (apple juice) and the moms got real tea. Julia insisted on adding several lumps of sugar to hers! She had such fun having a real life tea party. The girls had little finger sandwiches cut in the shape of hearts and fruit to eat. Rose Petal told them the story of Sleeping Beauty and they all sang some songs. Then, all the girls gathered in the center, and Aurora finally made her appearance. The girls were all so happy! They all danced with her, and then she came by each table to talk with the girls individually while we had some cake. We were also given some scrapbooking materials to take home with us. Now, this tea was RIDICULOUSLY expensive, but Julia had the time of her life, and it was so sweet to see how truly excited she was. And it was her birthday, after all…

What a cute doll your DD has. Where did you get it and did they have other princessesprincess:? My DD will be 6 at the end of March and would just love that. It would be a great gift for her. If you got it there, where? We will be there for her birthday so I would still be able to get one for her.

The doll is included with the tea. She is sitting on the girls' chairs when they first arrive. They all ooh and ahhh over her, and then they get really excited when they realize that they get to keep her!

The doll is sold in the stores at WDW as well. She is called My Disney Girl, and she is dressed in a tee and jean shorts with pink Minnie ears, I believe. I think she retails for $50. She is available with either blonde and brown hair, maybe more options? They also sell different princess outfits for her, as well as Minnie, for $25 apiece. We allowed DD to get an Ariel dress for her Sleeping Beauty doll.

Here are a couple of pics from our visit to the Tea Party in Dec. 2006.

Thanks! When my husband saw how expensive the tea was he nixed that idea and it is a bit out of our budget. But if they sell the doll in the stores I could still do that for her. Are they the same size as the American girl dolls? If they are, maybe I'll just buy her the princess outfits and that way I could get her several:goodvibes . Where is the best place to get them?

The dolls are the same size as AG dolls, though not the same quality. But that's OK for now, since DD is only 5. You could definitely just get the Princess dresses. I think they were $25 in the stores. I saw them for sale at the World of Disney, the Contemporary gift shop, & the big store on Main St in MK for sure. There were several other princess dresses to choose. I know for sure there was Jasmine, Ariel, Belle, Cinderella. And Minnie. Perhaps more.

These picures are so adorable. I was so hesitant about spending the money, but my daughter would absolutely love this. Thanks for sharing. :)

I love everyone pictures, it looks like fun for LL your DD's. The doll to me looks kind of cheap and not at all like the American girl dolls (DD has 3) I guess good enough for the little girls though. I showed DD the pictures and she really wants to go but DH said no way when he heard the price. I guess we have to save up or have a garage sale ;)

The poly is great with small kids especially being on the monorail. The pool is zero entry which is perfect for kids that can't swim yet. They have some activities in the lobby for kids like make your own Flower Lei and they even have Hula lessons on Saturdays at the Lua cove. We love the Poly, have a great trip.

Thanks for your help:hug:. I will definately get her one and maybe have the front desk deliver it to our room from Ariel(her favoriteprincess:)the morning of her birthday. It will save me a lot of money cuz I can get the dress-up stuff for the doll instead of her, which of course is way more expensive:eek:!

The food was okay. I'm not a tea drinker so it was kind of ick for me, but that really wasn't what I was there for. A lot of girls dressed like Aurora, although there were plenty who didn't and a few who didn't wear princess attire at all. Most adults were dressed in dressier clothes, not formals, but a simple dress or maybe a nice pantsuit.

My daughter still talks about it, she had a WONDERFUL time and wants to do it again.
