My Disney Experience - ? from a newbie

I'm a complete WDW newbie, planning our first trip in February. I just logged into my MDE account for the first time. How come in my Family and Friends list it lists each person in my family twice (and my son 3 times)?

Silly question, I'm sure, but when I purchase tickets, customize magic bands and select FP+, will I have to carefully make sure I assign them to "right" Sherri (me), or does MDE know that all Sherri's are the same person?

(Sorry if this sounds dumb, but I'm a nervous nelly and I obsess over every detail.)

You can "edit" and delete the extra people. That's the best thing to do before the MagicBands get customized and linked.

Ugh. I've tried editing, but it says that both of my husband's names have a hotel reservation and magic band order assigned to him, so it won't let me delete either one. When I go into my magic band order page, it shows one for each of us, so I don't get it.

Another silly question. Should I be on my family and friends list? It says that nothing is assigned to either of my names, so it would let me delete them both.

You'll need to call Disney and ask for the IT department regarding your MDE account.

MDE has been glitchy but you'll need to have yours straightened out before you assign tickets.

Ok...making some progress. I logged out and logged back in, and I was now able to delete my husband's 2nd name. My only question now is, should my name be on my family and friends list? If so, I'll definitely call IT to figure out why it says I have no reservation or magic band order linked to my name (even though the account is in my name).

You show up in the About Me area of Profile.

Your Family and Friends are the people traveling with you.

You should have a MagicBand assigned to you to customize. If you don't see it, you do need to call IT.

After tickets are linked, you'll see everyone, including yourself, when you select FPs.

We had lots of problems with our Family and Friends lists before our trip. Disney assured me it was no big deal to have multiple people listed twice, but I did not want to take any chances. The number I called was 407-939-7765, they were always very helpful, and able to get rid of the duplicates on my Family and Friends list.

Thank you! When I go to the Magic Band customizing page, it does show one for me, so I'm good there. I will go ahead and delete my name off of the Family and Friends list (just to de-clutter and simplify things).
