My Disney Diaries.....pt 1.

Thinking about where to eat is making me ohhh so hungry right now!
I have a lap-band- which makes eating slightly difficult- which is the whole idea to loose weight. But I don't want to loose weight while on vacation! Actually I have not went back to TJ for a fill since 2009. Now I need a passport to go back- which I don't have! So for now I am not to restricted. I just have a hard time getting the food down when I am rushed or nervous. It seems to tighten up- so I am trying to convince my brain to not be nervous on our trip! :rotfl2: DS3 makes me nervous when we go out to eat. So much attention and time goes into training him how to behave at a rest. It can get frustrating. Oh how I desire to eat a hot meal- or even a warm meal- without DS3! Someday, someday! :lmao:

Places I would like to eat this trip- Rain Forest Cafe- mostly this is for DS3. He is really into animals and fish- hopefully this will distract him so I can eat my Maui-Maui in peace. We took him here in 2009- we were seated by the gorillas and he freaked out! I am hoping - really hoping he outgrew that fear. I will request a table near the aquarium this time!
Let's see, oh yes.... Minnie's Breakfast in the Park. I really want to take DS3 to this as well. I would love to get some more photos of the characters without the lines. Did I mention that DS3 is slightly impatient when the lines is longer then 5 min??? It can be frustrating.
I want to eat at Rancho del Zoccalo or whatever that place is called. DH has never been there yet- he likes to eat at new places. I took my DS16 there in Oct- and it was pretty good! Plus eating outside away from other people is a plus with DS3!! ;)
Another place on my list is Carnation Cafe. I would like to do this for lunch- never been. I would love to meet Oscar! I already know I want the half soup/ half sand combo! Yum!
I am considering Blue Bayou- only if we can get water side seating. That way DS3 can watch the boats so I can eat in peace. Wishful thinking. I would order that mushroom dish. Looks yummy- and I would ask DH to try the ribs or the surf and turf. So that I can have some of his! hehe.
New Orleans Cafe is a must! I have been craving those Mickey Beignets with those sauces!! Oh my! And the famous Monte Cristo. Of course- as much as I would love to eat this all by myself- I can't. So this is a dish we need to share. Not sure when I want to eat this meal. Nighttime is romantic! But lunch time if timed right- we can watch Tiana sing, if shes out!
I wanted to try Fire and Ice- at the Gardenwalk- but its like a buffet. I don't want to waste money since I can't really pig out- but if they have scallops- well I am in! Excited to scallops cooked many different ways with sauces galore! I love sauce! thats my default! Extra sauce for me please!
One more place- its a iffy..... Ralph Brenans Jazz Sunday Brunch. This place might keep DS3 entertained with loud music and singing! :lmao:
At least I hope its loud enough to drown him out if he throws a fit. DH and I ate here back in gosh I think it was 2009- can't remember. it was super romantic- we were seated right in front of the Jazz Players! It was great! But never been for brunch. I thought 'brunch" was like a buffet? According to the menu- it's not. Except for the kids? Weird. Still might have to try it out. Those Fried Green Tomatoes look good!

For fillers and snacks- famous corn dog! Popcorn! Lots of popcorn- it is the best at Disneyland! dole whip, maybe some bengal bbq sticks- or atleast a veggie one. I will def. bring home an apple or two! It's so hard to choose which one! They all look so yummy! I will also bring home choc covered marshmellows - prolly 4! I loved that tigger tail- but I am not interested in the new revised version. The pretzel stick with all the M&M's looks good- wonder how many teeth I would crack trying to eat it! :lmao:

I plan on bringing in my little drink bag- its great for keeping water, sodas cold. Another plus for having a stroller!!! I hate carrying stuff !

I of course have not yet made my resies for these places yet. I still need to figure out which days and timesI want to eat . The little Mermaid ride is throwing me off- I have no idea what time I should stand in line for this. Nor do I know how long I will be in line for it. It's ruining my Friday! Maybe do Minnie's for breakfast as soon as it opens- then go to DCA and find the LM line? I don't know. Any ideas would be appreciated. I am also considering maybe a Ariel's Breakfast or a Storyteller's Breakfast this morning- in hopes of getting into a quicker line for LM? I have no idea how it will work out! Ok this is all for now! Have a good day!

Where to eat is always a difficult decision. I know that I really enjoyed Cafe Orleans in February.

Wish I could eat a mickey Beignets right now Michelle! Have you figured out your dates for this summer yet? Exciting!

Today let's talk about things I would like to buy on this trip!!
1. A Duffy with a Buzz Lightyear outfit!
2. A Ariel pin- to celebrate the new ride!
3. Balloons! Maybe 3!
4. Mickey ears for DS3 and a Minnie headband for me!
5. Treats to bring home!
6. The dog plushie from POTC- I do not know his name.... If anyone knows please tell me!
7. A new blanket for DS3!! His is getting old and not as soft anymore!
8. A Ratatouille coffee cup for my mom- or Bambi or a Thumper.
9. POTC window decal for our Suburban!
10. Toys for DS3 - I am a big sucker when it comes to Disney Toys!

Ok I think thats all I want to buy! LOL. I would buy everything if I was rich!!! Muwahahahahah!!

I have a Duffy and he has a couple of outfits. One of his outfits is a Buzz outfit.

007-14.jpg

Here is my Duffy with the one that my BFF bought for her daughter when we were there in February.

Too adorable!!!! I am going to have to control myself when I go buy the outfit! I would love to buy more then one outfit- but I better not! ;) Thanks for the pic!

It took all myself control to not buy more than the two I got. I really want the Woody one. I may buy a second Duffy just so I can have Buzz and Woody.

Here he is in his other outfit.

LOL Michelle your making me want to buy more then one bear now!!
I have not been posting much .... in case anyone is reading- I apologize! I had gone to the doc to get my results- results from blood work from when I got really sick. Anyways turns out I am anemic and have a B-12 Deficiency. So I have had to go into the office 3 days in a row for b-12 injections! Then once a month for six months and then after that pills. So this explains why I have been so tired! My mom thinks I have Endometreosis- so my next trip to the doc is May 20th! Wish me luck! I think the internet is turning me into a hypochondriac! Everytime I have a symptom I log on and search my symptom- so far I have had cancer, brain anuirasym, heart attack, ulcers, etc LOL :rotfl2: No seriously I do not have those things- but it makes my brain think that I do! OMG I am going to die!" :rotfl:
So I have thought about re-scheduling my trip. :scared1: But then I think- no way- I just can't wait another day as it is! I can always rent a scooter- or take it real easy once I get there. It's hard to think that this day next month- my trip will be almost over! That makes me sad. I can't wait for it to get here- but I don't want it to be over yet! I still have so much to do this month! I still need to get my hair colored. I have alot of grey! These kids gave it to me! HarHAR!
I had made a mistake of going back on the Disney Online Store- I was looking for a specific coffee mug for my mom for Mothers Day. I was going to make her a coffee gift basket- with the Mickey Coffees and special flavors and they even had a special coffee Mickey scooper. Well I couldn't find any of it! I saw it about 3 weeks ago- I will have to wait until I get there to buy it. I know Pooh's Corner has it. But what I did find- was :rolleyes1 A Captain Jack Sparrow tee in my size! And since it was the 2 for $18 deal- I had to buy another one- so I picked out a tinkerbell tee. Now I have way too many shirts for my trip!!! Maybe I should add more days to my trip so I can wear all my clothes! Not too mention the new rest. opening up!!!! UGH! Disney is killing me! If only I could live there!!

I love all of the Mickey Mouse kitchen stuff. I could have spent all of my spending money in there. I wanted to buy all of the stuff but then I would want to use it. They have it all in the Market House on Main Street.

I will have to check out the Market House! Thank you! I have a few items in my kitchen that are Mickey and Minnie theme. I cringed when I found my kids used the Mickey Hand potholder and spilled food on it! It came out in the wash though! But my towel is ruined. There is a yellow stain on it! :scared: But I have not yet opened my new pizza cutter- and we had pizza the other night! It's just too cute!!!

I did notice last June that they had Pooh Bear kitchen things in Pooh's Corner. I did not get a chance to look in February because Critter Country was closed. Now I need to plan another trip.

Hi Sherri! thanks for joining along!:cheer2: And Good Morning Michelle!

Today is Friday! Happy Friday! And a early Happy Mother's Day to all of you!!!! :grouphug:

Today I suppose I will talk about my plans for the trip!!!
Wed- June 1st : I have a B-12 injection scheduled at 1 pm. Hopefully I will be full of energy for the trip! LOL
Also I will probably get my mani and pedi after the docs. DH will need to go pick up the rental car from Enterprise. Last minute food shopping, laundry, cleaning and packing!

Thursday June 2nd! The big day arrives! I would love to leave the house at around 6 am. It will be around a good 6 hour drive- with a few stops to stretch and refuel. That would make arriving at around 12 pm- Hopefully we would have avoided the traffic crazy times! Arrive at the Tropicana Inn and cross my fingers that the room is ready! Clean the room and search for bugs- then unload the car! I am a little nervous about this- I will be traveling for the first time with some meds and I don't want to leave them in the hot car! Hopefully if the room isn't ready maybe they can hold a bag for me? Then we go to DL!! This Thursday is a Grad day- and the park will close at 9 pm. DCA closes at 8 or 8:30. I can't remember! Too lazy to go look. LOL. I have no idea really what to do! The point of the trip is to relax and have fun and just stroll around. But I can't relax! All I can think about is making the wrong decision! For instance- would this Thursday night- which is Grad night- be a wise choice to take DS3 to see WOC? Or should we just not even try to do this? Will the crowd from DL hoard over to DCA to watch WOC too? Will those teenagers arrive early to the parks and are they even allowed to go to DCA or is it just DL? See how I drive my self nuts? Either way I prolly just want to see WOC to order the picnic dinner just so I can eat that amazing Tiramasu! MMmmmm!
I do however want to eat at Rainforest Cafe! Should we eat after the parks close or at around 5 pm? I am kinda leaning to do this later then earlier- so we will be nice and full then walk back to the Tropicana for a dip in the pool and Spa if its still open. That way- since arriving early we can maybe sneak in a quick bite at the new Tiki place at the DLH! Just take the day easy! Just trying to watch WOC is going to give me anxiety I think! I am already feeling it. That's not the ideal place for my DS3. Well he loves colors and water- its just the waiting part! :rolleyes1 Ok later on today I will try to make a plan for Friday! Thanks for reading along- and give me some inputs! I need to go do some :laundy: !!!

I would make reservations for Rain Forest if you are eating there. It is usually crowded.

I like getting there early and dropping off the luggage because I don't want to worry about my car getting broken into and losing things.

Honestly I can offer no advice or thoughts about WoC. I have never watched it. When we were there in June it was way toooooooo busy and then I was there in February it was too windy and I wasn't willing to pay for the expensive meal to get WoC cancelled due to the wind.

We really enjoyed WoC....the wait can be long if you're dealing with big crowds. Our 3 yr old twins did fine, but they stayed in their strollers & actually dozed off before the show started. When it started they sat up & were fascinated with it.

I would try to do the WoC on a NON-Grad night. Your questioning if everyone would vacate DL to go over to DCA will be right on. Which leads me to believe, the crowds for the WoC show will also be bigger.

If you have the option of going on a different night I would. If you don't want to commit to going, then just pick up a FP up by GRR. You won't be out any money, if you decide not to go. (long day, fussy kid, etc).

Someone else had pointed out that you can watch the show from the backside (over by TSMM) with no wait. You won't be able to see the projections, but you'll see the fountains, color & hear the music.

Thanks guys! Diznee Lover I so forgot about the backside! That might just be the perfect solution! DH and I saw WOC last July! It was great- just dreading waiting it out with the kiddo! I wish my son would sit in his stroller that long and take a nap while waiting! Your lucky Diz! My son is complete opposite- atleast right now he is! He is very curious little boy- and once he is at a Theme park- he picks up on my adrenaline rush! Standing at the backside is also good- that way we can maybe see some of it if we decide to get in line for TSMM. Might keep him entertained. Might. :rolleyes1

And at any rate- I will still have Fri, Sat and Sun too!
I still need to make my reservations so we can eat! Your absolutely right in that Rainforest is crowded! Even with the reservation I expect to still wait. I have been such a food nut lately! This is bad for my "diet"!!! Why just a few minutes ago I was looking at what I will order at Mimi's this Sunday. We are going to church with DH's Grandma and his Mom- then out to breakfast at Mimi's! Not really looking forward to the church part- Grandmas church is slightly not very exciting as our church! Please don't strike me down God! It's just that I love our Church! Anyways- I think I am going to order the Mixed Berry Pain P. something. I forgot what its called! Basically French Toast stuffed with cream cheese and covered with fruit. YUM! I have always wanted to try French Toast stuffed with well anything! Just curious as to how they do it! How do you stuff something inside of a slice of bread? :confused3
LOL Anyways- lets talk Friday!
Friday June 3rd! My Big Day! The Day I have Been Waiting For - For A Few Years Now! Little Mermaid!!! :cool1: I can not wait!!! I am prepared for a huge line. A line so huge that I will probably only get to ride it once! But IT WILL BE WORTH IT! I know Disney won't let me down! I plan on waking up early - I hope I can sleep! I will prolly be so excited that I can't! this is the day that I will be wearing my little Mermaid Tee and my Little Mermaid backpack! It's so cute! I never found a Flounder tee for DS3. I also should not buy him anymore clothes! Atleast that is what DH says! Since this is also Star Tours 2 day- DH will wear his Star Wars Jersey. DS3 will wear his Toy Story shirt. I planned on all of us getting Toy Story shirts- but I never ordered them. Plus I do not know how I am going to squeeze in all my shirts! Maybe I will do multi clothes changes like the Stars do at the Grammys! I told you I was crazy!
So we will be hungry and I plan on eating at Minnie's breakfast in the parks this morning. Then grab a FP for Star Tours2 and make a mad dash for the line for LM! Once DCA opens- and if the line is super long, maybe DH can take DS3 on a quick ride then hop back in line with me. I don't know yet. I really don't want to plan too much- just go with the flow. That way I wont stress out or be depressed if my plan didn't work. I do think we will hit up the room and the pool in the afternoon. Dinner this night will be Cafe Orleans- I think. Maybe BB. Crap I need to make my mind up so I can make my reservations! UGH!!! Eating at DL is so much fun! Everything at DL is so much fun! But we all know that. :cloud9:
Sat June 4th will be our MM day! I love MM! I plan on grabbing lunch at around 11:30 for Carnation Cafe. I need to try this famous soup! Then grab our FP- maybe hit up Splash and then go back to the hotel/motel. Pool fun and and nap time! We most likely will eat at Rancho mexican place at DL. But I want to wait until its dark out. A nice cool breeze on the patio with the lanterns lit up! I am a cheesy romantic girl! And of course close the park down! That I do know! I love closing the park down! And then opening it up in the morning! This of course causes a lack of sleep and a groutchy kid but hey- I only get to go once this year! :lmao:
Sunday June 5th- Slightly sleep in this morning. No mm for us since we will use it on Sat. But I do plan on being there at rope drop! I plan on bringing in morning style snacks then hit up Cafe Orleans for lunch. When eating here- I get sick. not a vomit or stomach sick- more like I am too full to walk and need a immediate nap sick! So probably back to the room to rest. Basically a rinse and repeat day. Hrm I just remembered that I had wanted to try Ralph's Jazz Brunch on Sunday! I will re-think my dining plans and get back to you! ;)
Mon- June 6th. This is our going home day. I had been waiting for the 5 for 3 deal. I do not think they will offer it this summer. And to be frank- I will probably fork out the extra money just to get 5 days. I hope they aren't reading that. I always invision that Disney hires people to get a feel on what peoples plans are. To read the TR'S and Disboards etc then report back- "hey it's not necessary to give out deals this year! They plan on spending the big bucks" LOL. I would like to sleep in on Mon. Then pack up and head to DL for a few hours before driving home. I will try to get everything done that I haven't done yet. If that is even possible. I must see the new parade! I was the Assistant Drum Major in my High School back in the days- so this parade is going to be extra special for me!
I really ramble too much! Way too much! And as you have read- I didn't give too much detail to really anything. For example- what i was going to wear on Thurs , Sat, Sun and Mon. I am pretty sure I have it all planned out in my head- I blame my ADD for not being able to type it out here!
For some weird reason- I want to wear a dress while driving down on Thursday. It just seems sexy, and a good way to keep cool. But I am so pale! The dress I want- is a Maxi dress- so atleast my legs will be covered heha. But my arms are another story! Too tan or not to tan is the question. I burn at first. Which is another reason I should start tanning right now. Get the burn over with! I have not ever had good results from sitting outside and tanning. I know that the tanning beds are bad or your health. With the whole cancer risk stuff- I did the Mystic Spray Tan last year- I felt odd. And people stared at me. Like maybe it wasn't real enough. I don't know. Maybe I was streaky. HEHE! But I have this desire to be golden! A deep Golden! Maybe just this once I might do the tanning thing for the month. Maybe. I am not sure yet. Ok time for more laundry and dishes!

To me the spray tans always look orangish, maybe that is why.:confused3 I am so excited for you because it is so close. The only way I am going to be anywhere near there for a while is if I win the AP contest for an early ride on Star Tours. Let's all cross our fingers for that one.

Good Monday Morning! I am back!! What a weekend! Michelle, did you win your chance to ride the new ride yet? i hope you win! Good Luck!!
So I had a great weekend! I hope you all did too! Friday started with DH coming home with a sweet check from a web project he had been working on! Which prompted me to go shopping! First stop- The Outlet. Its my favorite and only thrift store that I go to! It's also the one I worked at years ago before daycare. So I know they have good stuff! My damage was $51. Not too bad. I bought the kids summer clothes to wear around the house and outside. Clothes that can get worn and torn without me yelling at them for wearing the good stuff outside. I also bout two prized treasures! I call them prized treasures- because thats really the only reason I go there. every so often I find Disney stuff there! It's awesome! I have this huge bay window in my bedroom- its a growing collection for my Disney plushies! So on Friday- I found a pretty large Eeyore! He is a light purple and super soft- maybe a cashmere material. I love it! Plus he has the official stamp on his foot! The other gem I found was a pretty nice size Simba from the Lion King! He is older looking but not too bad. He is tall enough to stand on his feet. I can not wait until Disney releases Lion King from the Vault this fall! I hope DS3 will love Lino King! Oh I forgot- I found a Goofy! He is about as tall as my finger tip to my elbow. He used to be one of those "squeeze my hand" and I will play something toys. Maybe if I put in some new batteries he might work again! After the thrift store I went to Rite-Aid. I hate going to those stores! I went in for toilet paper and boston baked beans for DH. I came out with a cart full of stuff! :scared1: I spent an alarming $124!! Yikes! All I can remember buying was Tide- which was on sale, sunscreen for the kids and indoor tanning lotion for me. It said it was on sale- so thats when I made up my mind that I would go indoor tanning for the trip! It was a sign from the tanning Gods! :rolleyes1 I also bought some Physician's Formula Bronzing powder and eyeshadow. Determined to be golden! I do still need to go to Macy's and get more Lancome toner and face cream. I am almost out! My face needs to be hydrated if I tan! Which reminds me that I still need to order that foot care stuff from Avon! it was a tip on the Disboards under "Which Shoes Should I wear?" I hope those sprays soothe my achy feet after my Disney strolls! :cloud9:
Saturday was great! DH woke up and asked me if I wanted to go somewhere with the kids all day. That way he can catch up on his schoolwork, prepare for finals, and finish some projects. The only place I could think of was Discovery Kingdom. So off we went! Ugh- DS# insists on a bath right now..... talk more later. :cloud9:

Sounds like you had fun. I am a firm believer of buying play clothes for kids. I always did when mine were little.

Ok back! A day latter! :rotfl2: Kids take up all my time!!! Oh well. Gotta love em! I think I last left off talking about Discovery Kingdom. It was very crowded, cold, and windy! Still had fun though. Ate pizza- nasty cold, funnel cakes- delicious! And shared Macho Nachos. It was huge- but just ok. I prefer Nachos with real cheese melted and gravy on it. Yes and this is why I am fat! DS3 stood in lines so perfectly waiting! The hard part is waiting for brother and sister to stand in lines for their rides! Since it was Mother's Day weekend- they only rode 2 big kid rides and helped me so much with the lil guy! They were perfect- I promised them a trip without the little guy- most likely in June. I also told them they could bring a friend. So they are excited for that. June is going to be a very busy month! At the end of June- DH's mom and step dad rented a cabin in Lake Tahoe to celebrate our birthdays for a whole week! that should be fun! Atleast I hope it will be fun- FIL has been very moody lately. :scared1:
Sunday was better then I thought it would be! The service at Grandmas church was really good! DS3 wore his new Perry Ellis suit- and was so adorable! Plus he was really good in Sunday School! Breakfast at Mimi's was so so . I ordered the stuffed French Toast- and I now know how they stuff. I think it is cheating- all they do is put the cream cheese in between the slices of french toast! Atleast my curiosity is solved! We had set our alarm to go off at 7 am. That way we could get all 5 kids plus ourselves showered and ready and be in the car at 8:40. church started at 9:45. Well we woke up at 8:33!!! :headache: We ended up not even waking up the older 4! So when we got back- they all thought they were in trouble for sleeping in and they scrubbed the house clean to avoid being punished! Classic! It has always been a struggle for ever to get the teens up for church! So the second oldest- who is 16- almost - 17... volunteered to watch DS3 so we could go see a movie. So we took him up on the offer- after all this kid is almost 3- but I was still slightly nervous. We ended up seeing The Source Code- at the cheap $3 theater. Half way thru the movie- our cell phone goes off and its "Home" calling. DH gets up and goes out to answer it. They didn't answer. He called 31 times- and no answer. He never comes back to the seat so I panic. All I could of was something was wrong. I thought DH left me and it was a very serious emergency! OMG! I see DH standing in the back of the theater- so we agreed to leave and go see what happened! We kept calling all the way home- still no answer. All these scenerios race thru our minds- maybe 911 is on the other line and told them to not click over, maybe one of em died and they are too afraid to answer the phone, maybe the house burnt down... etc. We arrive at the house- daughter opens the door and asks us how the movie was. I was white as a ghost ready for a melt down- "wheres Ethan?" Ethan pops out behind the door " Hi Mom" The 16 year old is on the computer- and the 8 year old is on the couch. OMG! so we start with the 20 questions- wheres the phone, what happened, who called, why didn't you answer the phone etc? Turns out that the 8 year old tried to call us- and the 11 year old said to hang up and not ruin our movie. While doing that- he accidently turned the ringer off! :rolleyes1:headache:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Atleast nobody was dead! They convinced us to go out to eat dinner. So off we went. We ate at Chili's and it was just ok. But what an eventful day!
Last night I took my daughter- how does this code work- DD11 - to the gym with me. it felt so good to work out and swim and soak in the spa! After that we headed over to Planet Body or was it Planet Beach- heck I don't remember. It's the tanning place I had wanted to go to. The lady quoted me $99 for unlimited tanning for one month. I almost died! That is way too much! Are they crazy? I mean come on- I am paying to get cancer- and they charge that much? LOL. So she said- well if you come in on Tuesday- I have a special- pay for 10 sessions and I will throw in 6 for free- all for only $79. What a deal! Not. Well today's mission is too call around and see if I can get a cheaper quote- if not- I guess I might do the special deal. :headache:
Also today I must make my car reservations, and dinner reservations! I recently read a thread on the Dis about Tropicana rant. UGH! How can they charge for parking? The didn't tell us about this parking fee when we called and made our reservations! So I went back to the website- and searched hotel policy- and low and behold they are now charging $9 for parking!!!! Not sure what I am going to do- prolly try to contest it once we show up. But I won't let it get me down since I am aware of it now. I am only aware of it thru word of mouth- and not by them- so I will act like I didn't know. Hope it works! Be back later! Off to make phone calls!
