My disgust with Staff

Beyond the frustration of the event and that has been well covered on this board I want to share with you my disgust with how staff is handling it the DAY AFTER.

Nothing on the home page and I really thought that they would say something, you know blame it on atmpspheric conditions or the Lock Ness Monster, something.

I saw VMK Red in the morning and I asked her what happened yesterday. Her answer is "I don't know, I was not working". Are you kidding me? They don't talk? They let staff start a day working without letting them on the the little debacle that happened the day before. There was bound to be questions from people wanting their prizes at the very least.

Then I saw another VMK and I want to say it was Flamingo but I don't remember. I asked if people were going to get their prizes. She said I should write to VMK via the contact link. I replied that I did and I didn't get a response and we all call it the black hole. I can't remember the words I used since we can't say hole. Then I went on that when we do that we either never hear from VMK or we get an automated response. She did not reply back.

Later I noticed VMK Zev had a room and the description said no talk about generator event. I guess he was tired of hearing about it.

In my opinion VMK is really making it worse by not adressing the problem. This is really shoddy service and I expect more from Disney.
 
LOL I didn't see the usual HOST_s yesterday. It made me wonder if they were in hiding. I feel bad for them really. They lose connection just like we do, and probably can't do anything about it. It must be really frustrating for them too.

Of all the things i have seen/heard/etc during and after the event, this one burns my...burns me up lol, the most.

Umm excuse me, it is your job to not only help people, but answer questions. Now you are deciding what people can and can not ask you about? Are you kidding me????

the fact that he even PUT that in his description should get him smacked upside the head by WHOEVER (if there even is such a thing) is in charge of staff.

Seriously lets not forget that this is their JOB. They get a paycheck for having rooms and playing games and answering our questions. They are not doing it to be nice, this is what they are paid to do.
 

Funny thing...

I made it into VMK Zev's room and everyone was talking about the events and lots of crashes- he made the mistake of asking how everyone's weekend was- I should have answered- "we aren't allowed to discuss it in here" But instead I said something about not so great- had alittle girl crying all day because she couldn't get into the game at all and waited long times to be judged in costume contest losing connection there too... so mine wasn't so great- how was your's?"

Funny though- he never answered my question

And I noticed more staff in public areas yesterday too- saw VMK Red and one or two others (can't remember)- Red was in the Emporium- with so many kids crowded around her you could barely see her green ears sticking out- I wanted to ask if she was smothering under all those people but just sat back and watched as people asked question after question- that was annoying and she must have gotten asked to trade like 30 times while I was in there...

Is it bad that I enjoyed her minor torture?

oh, adn if they fix the help tool anytime soon ( i personally think tehy closed it that day so they didnt suffocate in teh emails.)

To whom it may concern,

Ok, I am fed up with vmk events and staff. First of all, why has my 2 month old CL application not been replied to? Second, after the maze fiasco, which you chalked up to ' ghosts ' instead of saying you were wrong, when a bunch of people asked ' why don’t you open more rooms to make lines more manageable?' and today we have to wait in lines of 770+ people? Lastly, the prizes for the costume contest? That is just sad and rude to the players who worked hard to come up with the costumes, why should some get inferno while others get a pumpkin? Look at the mobs of angry people on vmk forums, who spent hours today trying to get into the badly designed event. I have even read of a person who was so upset that she is considering not going to DLR for quests but sea world. Then the banning of CL_Adioskater for dressing up like staff for Halloween? Why? I have seen and reported players saying sexual comments and other sick things, and they get one day bans, then he dresses like staff and BOOM! He is banned till 2017. Also, half the staff I have had the displeasure of meeting are quite mean. I ask a question and they say I don’t know very rudely and then either boot me or tell them to write here, to what we vmkers call the black hole, because we very rarely if ever get a response. Bottom line, staff is paid to make games and answer questions, not blow people off when they don’t have the answer that would look good. And now they say not to talk to them about it? I think you should let the CLs do all the in game events; they can handle it much better and are way nicer than staff. I know of kids that cried over this debacle, which is the worst show in Disney history in my opinion, kids crying about something Disney does. I think Walt would be ashamed of the way things were handled, even if I never knew him. I would NEVER see this at a real Disney park, and why should your virtual parks be ANY different from the real ones?

Do u know what I don't really agree with u( not saying that you are wrong) but it is a free game and there is so much stuff going on all of the time so there should be a few errors. I just saying this because I know someone in real life that works on the game and she works her but off all the time.

actually disney makes alot off vmk. we are paying indirectly, look at the amount of ppl who bought herbie and hated the movie
 
Yup! Lot of Herbie's in the VMK. I've also planned a trip to DLR for March. Did VMK have anything to do with that? YES! I've met people who live near DLR who have kindly asked me to fly on down and take a few quests. Is Disney/VMK making money from this "free" game? YES! Tons!
Okay, back on topic :rolleyes1 I, too was disgusted with the events so far. The staff has definitely gotten bitter with the players, (you know them ;)). I've seen some staff simply vanish from the room only to end up in a far less populated room. Why? Were all the questions answered? Hmmm.. Can this be corrected? Again, yes. A little more patience with the newer players, a few more staff to help with events and a lot more communication with the players who have excellent suggestions for improvement. I only hope VMK and Disney get the message soon.
 
Here's my opionoin. VMK is less of a game, and more of an advertising device. I hate how they go " Buy this movie and get awesome stuff!", or " Go to WDW or Disney Land and do stuff there to recieve awesome stuff!" and then we listen. If you ask me, that's why they do nothing about these issues. They care less about making a good game and rather on making a shameless advertasing ploy.

Perhaps if staff removed their heads, from the aforementioned place, before they worked it off, then they would be able to think of ways to better run these events. ;)
 
I think we should replace most of the VMK staff with Dis members! :)

Just kidding, but we would be a lot nicer and respect peoples questions. They shouldn't get paid for being mean, only for being nice... We would make a lot of cash... :rotfl2:

I have no doubt that VMK staff do work hard. If we had seen ANY improvement with this event I don't think you would be hearing so many complaints. But every event is the same thing and worse. We all know the game is still considered new and there will be errors, but it would be nice to see someone learning from them, and taking steps to improve. The last maze event, they opened up extra rooms the second day I assume to improve the lines. You would have thought they could remember that long lines make the game unstable, and oh yeah, people don't want to wait for an hour to get a pumpkin.
In regard to VMK being an advertising medium, yes it is. That isn't going to change, it was designed that way. We should expect more of that, not less.
 
I have a theory about the VMK staff and hosts. We have been told that they are there to help us, like cast members in the parks. I think that they are walking, talking advertisements. They are in VMK to tantalize us with "rare" pins. What better way to create buzz than to host an event with a rare item?

(O.T. It's funny how the human psyche works... I didn't like Inferno before it was released. I thought that players looked stupid dancing with their feet on fire. Now that it is rare and I can't get it, I want it! :rotfl: )
 
What we must all remember is that VMK is essentially one big test and advertisement that goes hand in hand! The best thing we can do is go to official disney site and comment through there! It is apparent that the Disney Values are not of real concern at VMK! Therefore, the most effective way to get through to Disney about our dissatisfaction ( sp? ) is to voice our opinions through the main Disney site or Disneyland site or WDW site and not through VMK!

Staff is staff virtual or real, if they are not treating you with utmost respect as Disney upholds then this should be reported directly to Disney and not to VMK!

ok so this post is 100% correct and further more i think the hole dressing up as a staff member thing was an awesome idea but my question would have been why ban him for wearing the clothes you sold in the first place?????? any ideas im curious???? Further more im going to write the black hole twice a day if i have too to maybe get some of these ( in my opinion ) useless excuse for staff members put some where else they do a horrible job of helping ppl granted there are good ones but if community leaders can be critiqued by other players why not staff???? And banning ppl for saying kiss or hugs thats bull too!!!! VMK is a kids playhouse always was always will be protecting kids is one thing but when kids are pretending to have sex with others in open rooms and vmk gives out one day bans thats stupid and ignorant on there part. any way this post was much longer than i wanted but think about it us the players that makes or breaks VMK with out us there is no VMK we complain enough about the poor leadership and maybe something will be done in the correct manner... think about it .

I dunno guys...I just think we are getting way too uptight over something so silly. I was a little frustrated too, but I am not letting it saturate my mind. :confused3

I still stand strong behind my belief that if you are truly 100% upset and bothered by everything, take a break. It's just not worth getting this aggravated over something so trivial.

Just my two cents...
