Hello there. I booked ALL my meals yesterday for our trip in Sept. I will list them because I enjoy reading your advice. Keep in mind we are going for my little boys 7th birthday.

San Angel in Mexico: Thought the mexican flare would be fun, menu looked yummy, we love interesting mexican food and the setting was so pretty.

Coral Reef: The setting was also one of the main reasons for this pick, we love fish...eating and watching

Chef Mickey's dinner: We are not thrilled with meals like this, but for his birthday, we thought it would be fun for him.

Capt'n Jacks: The lobster tails looks great and the setting near the water looked relaxing and casual

Victoria and Albert's: for our one date night with out our son

California Grill for our last night at Disney: watching the fireworks we thought was a perfect end to our trip.

Hugs,

Maggie :cloud9:

I have actually not eaten at any of the restaurants you have chosen, although I have an ADR for the Chef Mickey's dinner in September. Hopefully someone else can post thoughts. I think it also helps to know what types of foods/atmosphere you like if you want advice on how well you may like what restaurants you chose.

While I have not eaten at all of them, looks like you've made some great choices. I can vouch for San Angel Inn - The Mole Poblano was delicious, the ambiance is great! The Coral Reef is also a fantastic restaurant, Mickey was scuba diving while we had lunch, the food is great, I recommend the chocolate wave cake for desert.

They all seem to be great restaurants. We haven't eaten in San Angelo so I can't comment on that one. The only thing I wonder, maybe one more "kids" restaurant type for your ds. I know my kids love the Sci-Fi, LTT and Crystal Palace.

California is fairly high end, and I wouldn't consider it overly child friendly. Although watching the fireworks from there is enjoyable. An alternative you might want to consider is Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian. For seafood, I would go with Fulton's instead of CJ.

I've heard really positive reviews about both the food and the experience of dining at Chef Mickey's. I wouldn't worry about that one too much especially since you're doing it for your kid's birthday.

I havent eaten there but every review on Capn Jacks is horrible
do a search and see what I read

I would rather go to fulton's but it is not on the dining plan. I heard that Captain Jacks was good if you order the double lobster tails. It only uses one dining plan table service and I have read good reviews about that entree. We love lobster and honestly we are only going for that. My son loves fish, so he will enjoy the fish nuggets. Fulton's would be perfect for me but they do not offer that resturant on the dining plan. California Grill will be the only upscale resturant that we are taking our son to. He does great eating out (very good boy)...and of course we will not be taking him to Victoria and Albert's.

DH and I went to California Grill last July and I was surprised how many kids were there. I had always thought it was more adult only. We left our kids at Neverland Club, but they had a wonderful time there so I didn't feel guilty.

California Grill is one of our favorite restaurants at WDW. We ate there twice last year and enjoyed it both times. I think you son will be fine there. We always see lots of kids dining there when we go. I had a flatbread and there pork tenderloin with polenta on our last visit and they were both outstanding.

We dined at V&A a few years ago for our anniversary and it was the highlight of our trip. The food and service are the best we have ever had. It will truly be a night to remember for you.

You might want to think about Narcossee's at the Grand Floridian. It too specializes in seafood. I am not a seafood lover, but I just stayed at the GF and the setting for that restaurant is AWESOME.

Looks good except for Captain Jack's...

As to someones comment about CG, it is expensive and upscale but they do children VERY well, if you've got the money and your child has the temperment...Bon Apitit!

Been to Capt Jack's a few times and the food was excellent.

Maybe since you're not thrilled with Chef Mickey's for dinner for his b-day, go there for a character breakfast. My kids loved it. This way you can try something else for his b-day dinner!

We had our DD's 2nd birthday at Chef Mickeys last September.

We love Chef Mickeys for dinner. It is my DS's (7) favorite restaurant and the one thing he requests we do every trip. Which we have. Some people don't like it, but its one of our favorites, and we'll be doing it this September also.

I would also recommend someplace (o.k. anyplace) than Captn Jacks. We had below par service and below average food. Not worth the ts credits for what we had.

The Captian Jacks situation is hard for me. My husband and I love the 'key west' lifestyle...we love eating by the water, we adore lobster, and we enjoy a relaxed atmostphere. So Fulton's seemed perfect, until I found out that Fulton's was not on the dining plan. I was excited about seeing Captian Jack's, which is one dining point, and we can order lobster and sit near the water and stroll along the boardwalk. So I have been here many times and hear that the lobster was yummy and many other people have said it was not good. But then that leaves me with no other seafood options.

Help!
