My dining reviews from May 11 - 16, 2006 ~ WITH PICTURES!

Thanks for the great reviews and pictures! I think your pictures are very mean because they made me hungry! :rotfl2:

Really enjoyed your reviews and pics!! Can you tell me what's inside the Tonga Toast I've heard so much about? Looks yummy!

heaven2dc: There is fresh banana inside the Tonga Toast :)

Miss Park Avenue: There are no characters at all at dinner at 'Ohana, only at breakfast. Yes, I did have breakfast there too, there are a few pictures from that meal in this thread :)

Timon: I think I will be trying Le Cellier for lunch some day. I refuse to give up, I know it's a highly rated restaurant, and the filet mignon at dinner this time was a good piece of meat I just didn't enjoy the sauce/glaze.

bblanch: The shrimp is part of the meal and is included. :)

Terry, can you explain the sauce on the LeCellier filet? It sounds like it would be sweet like maple syrup, am I right? That is what I am planning to order when we finally try LeCellier in Sept but I'm cautious first of any steak with a sauce (as there is usually a reason for it!) and also that it will ruin it. Can you explain it at all?

THANKS!

Thanks again SeaSpray for your reviews and for the explanation of your drink at 'Ohana. I can't wait to try one. I have ADR's at Brown Derby and LeCellier both for dinner. I am second guessing myself but the rest of my party is really looking forward to these so we shall take our chances. We are also having breakfast at Kona on the morning of arrival and by the looks of your pics this will be a great start to our vacation. Great Job--you deserve ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo + ::MickeyMo

Hi.

It really did taste just like a combination of maple syrup and BBQ sauce. lol It really wasn't "bad", just had a much stronger taste than I liked. Plus the fact that the mashed potatoes were dry and had no flavor.
