I'm so JEALOUS:mad: !!!!! He'll be there all week. Yes, it's for "work", but lots of leisure too. My DS8 and DD5 have made him SWEAR he will not set foot on a ride of any kind while he's there without us. He is allowed however to go to DtD to buy us lots of presents! And I told him he has to go to the pin shop at DtD and call me to report on all the new pins.

OK, so you already have a free hotel room....does he have any frequent flyer miles from "work" that you could use to get yourselves there?

If it was me, I'd totally be scheming to figure out a way to get there. :thumbsup2

My DH is in Orlando this week for work too. He's staying at the Swan. However, DS 2, DD 3 and I will be heading there on Wednesday and staying through Tuesday. We are going to make the most of the "business trip.":yay:

I feel your pain DD16 left this morning for a school trip to DW for the week, I tried to be a chaperone but she wasn't having it. I was tempted to hold on to her legs and say take me with you pleaseeeeeeee:worship: but I came to my senses just in time....:rotfl:

If I could easily have child care for my kids I would go with him. At least for the weekend. My kids have already missed 2 weeks of school for vacation, so they shouldn't miss anymore. Unfortunately I do not have good grandparents/aunts/uncles who will take the kids in these situations. But at least the weather here at home has improved. If it were cold and snowy still, I would be so depressed!

I've been in your shoes too many times to count- in fact, last time we went to WDW, he basically turned around and went right back to Orlando as soon as we got home!

But look- you'll be out there with him, having a great vacation, soon enough :D

I know. I am dumb. He goes to this thing every year. I will try my best to arrange for a Mommy/Daddy rendezvous next year!

I feel your pain. My DH had a conference at the GF in February. It came up pretty last minute and fell during school vacation week so plane tickets were too outrageous for us to be able to tag along. DH actually got to eek out the last 2 days of our APs before they expired during his trip.

I made him send me PIX messages every 15 minutes of his leisure time so I could live vicariously through him.

LOL- my darling husband called me, while I was in a rare work meeting, to tell me he was listening to the fireworks go off at the MK! Whatta snot!

I feel your pain.
My husband will be going down on the 18th for 4 days for a conference.
He'll even be staying on property. :sad1: He won't be going to the parks but still.......

Last July I had an Educators conference and my DH and the boys came down for the week with me...it was more because my DH can't handle our kids alone :lmao: I'm sorry you can't swing going :( That stinks.

I dont think I could stay AT DISNEY without going to the parks. I love them so much. I know DW would not go without me.

I've been on the other end a few times - conferences at WDW when the kids are in school. It's nice, but it's nothing like a real trip with the wife and kids. It's like eating diet food - it looks the same and tastes sort of like it, but it isn't nearly as satisfying as the real thing.

On one outing I went to a private party at MK after hours. It was really strange seeing the park with no kids or strollers. The CMs loved it, but I found it disquieting. I much prefer the company of excited kids to drunk adults.

On my last solo trip to the parks, I spent two days doing almost nothing but taking pictures. I really enjoyed that, but I don't think I could have done any more than that. Two days of thinking "oh man, the boys would love this" is all I can take.

My DH leaves for Orlando tomorrow through Saturday. Staying at DTD. I have also told him not to enter a park. Wonder if our hubbies work for the same company!

It's some big insurance/reinsurance boondoggle they have every year in Orlando. And yes he will be somewhere near DtD. Same for your DH?

Overreact much? I guess we have senses of humor in my household. And yes, I'm spoiled by my DH , and proud of it.
No, I don't overreact much. I have a sense of humor as well, a real good one. But the OP was not written with one, so I took it as serious. :thumbsup2

I think everyone except the one poster knew you were playing. I also told my DH NOT to go into a park. Our family has a first time trip scheduled for Nov and I want us all to experience everything together the first time. I told him DTD is fine though and even told him where to get us some souveniers. He is also under orders to have a colleague send a postcard to the boys "from Mickey".

It's DH's company's kickoff for the sales team. Lucky duck.

Hello. . . I'm the 'one poster'. . . I'm right here.

I don't think any of you are "playing" at all. Just the tone and choice of words are giveaways that you mean it. "Under Orders", "Allowed", "I told him . . .".

I guess I am a different type of DW, one that goes a little more with the flow and understands not everyone has the same opportunities. I don't rain on others' fortunate parades, especially my DH's.
:goodvibes
