Oh please, IceQueen/SliverLily/whatever name you'll have next, I've put up with a whole lot of abuse on here and you know that. (comments about my love of cats, my reproductive system, etc, etc) I have endured many hateful and derrogatory comments from various posters, and no, I did not bring that onto myself. The comments come out of their hatred of those who are childfree and proud to be such, they hate the childfree who are honest enough to dare say that they don't like kids , they hate the childfree who dare challenge and question anything to do with parenting. And by the way, I am not the only one who has put up with such abuse.
*sigh*....it is useless. You want to make yourself sound like such a martyr for the cause, so fine. Poor GG. However, it is funny how most of the DIS would agree that you were always the one who started the hateful comments. Reap what you sow.

Oh, I think it is old news that I was SilverLily. I have stated that on the DIS before. Sorry your attempt to "out" me didn't work. :rotfl:

I dont want people to think I am a child hater because I am not.I want kids of my own oneday but it does not look hopeful,I have lost 3 so I am just very scared.I just dont care for kids that are not disciplined and are let rule the roost.I have a sister and nieces and nephews like that.I do Love kids very much, just some get on my last nerve.
So please dont assume that i Hate children, because really I want kids more than anything.

Misty

Maybe we should leave children out of this. I not crazy about hanging around immature, rude people. Whether it's a bratty child or an adult. I have a bratty next door neighbor. Don't like him and I don't hang around him. When we stayed at Pop Century we were woken up every night by people passing by the room whistling, yelling for their family members, etc. These were adults and I thought they were very rude. I don't like line cutters at the store or rude, aggressive drivers. Again, all adults.

As to related children who are bratty, I don't currently have any of those that I live near (don't think I have any that I don't live near currently), but in the past I played the auntie role, let the parents deal with the discipline unless it was something that I needed to handle (parents not around, etc) and told myself that MY kids would never be that way.

As to my own children, who have their moments. Eat humble pie that I am now dealing with some of the issues that I thought I'd never have to deal with. Try to teach my children the right way to behave and discipline when I need to. Know that "this, too shall pass". And. like my tag says, "these are the good old days".

Children are a blessing. For anyone who truly does not like children I think that is very sad. Afterall, you were once one. If you don't like them and/or don't want to make the sacrifices to raise them, please don't have them. Do yourself and society a favor and get yourself fixed.

To those of you who want children, but haven't had success having them... I can't imagine what that would be like.

::yes::

You know, one of my best friends is a lot like goofygirl. Child-free by choice, loves cats and has 3 furbabies of her own, volunteers at the animal hospital.

Interestingly, she is a pediatrician.

She obviously understands that you can be child-free and not have to disparage other people's children and parenthood in general. It's all about respect. I respect her choice, and she respects mine. And she certainly would never say something as ridiculous as "cats are better than kids"  .

I don't know about that but I keep coming back and reading it! I feel like I am watching a movie of the week.

How about a song so we can all get along...

Ebony and Ivory

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord, why don’t we?
We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in ev’ryone,
We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive.

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord why don’t we?

Ebony, ivory living in perfect harmony
Ebony, ivory, ooh
