My dh comes home from his hunting trip tonight..

...thank heavens because I make the worst coffee in the world and I really don't think I can take another morning of this sludge. What's the secret to making a decent cup of coffee anyway?

Ok, my DH is the coffee expert.. (when you get up at 430 every am for work you have to bee)

First, get rid of your Mr. Coffee, or whatever automatic drip you have. Every cup I have out of one of those, I can just tell its from a Mr. Coffee kind of thing...


We bought a french press coffee maker (actually I bought it for Christmas for my DH, it was about $20, Target/Fantes/any kitchen store would have them)

He puts 3 1/2 tablespoons of coffe in the carafe
Then he boils the water, and does some stuff... then pours it in.. (this is the 6 or 8 cup model) then he stirs, and lets it sit when he does some stuff (a few minutes-- he likes his closer to ten minutes.. but you can do whatever). Then he plunges it down.. and it is rich, flavorful, and not chemically tasting...


We wont go back to Mr. Coffee makers ever again, and we won't ever need to buy filters again either... (the plunger has a screen on it)

I have two...both equally good....Braun and Bunn.....I love them.....I put a little scoop of coffee in for each number of cups....so if I put in to the four cup line each morning (just for me) it is four scoops of FOLGERS......did I say FOLGERS......my favorite coffee ...Brian makes it on the weekends when we are not hunting on Saturdays.....these two coffee makers also keep my coffee hot.......I do love it.....
