She came up from their travel trailer a little while ago and wanted to know if there were any "chores" she could do for me.. I told her no - pretty much everything was done for today - but it was sweet of her to ask..

So - she wandered into my bathroom and noticed my bag of laundry.. (No washer and/or dryer here due to my gravity fed well..) However, I have a neighbor who is constantly telling me that I'm free to use hers, but I've only taken her up on it twice in the past 3 years.. (Both times I was too sick/weak to drive all the way back to DD's or go to the laundramat in town..)

Next thing I know, DGD dashes out the door, comes running back, and says, "XXXX" said I can do your laundry for you over there and we'll play a board game while it's washing and drying!" Her face was just beaming! :)

So - she grabbed my laundry, my detergent and drier sheets, as well as an empty tote to put the clean, folded clothes in and off she went..:lovestruc

I think that little girl deserves a special "treat" tonight - ya think?? :goodvibes

Too sweet.. do you think if I offer her some board games, she'll come and do mine!:rotfl2:

She would probably do it without the board games - LOL.. Just the kind of kid she is..:lovestruc

Aw, that was so sweet of your grand daughter c.ann. Are you going to bake her something special? I was actually thinking of you because I either read or heard something on tv where they were talking about how coloring relieves stress. So have you been coloring anything good lately? Maybe you could do that with her tonight.

I'll probably bake something with her..:lovestruc Have to be careful what I choose though as she just got her full braces on and her mouth is still sore.. Has to be nice and soft..

I haven't colored lately - but I've done it in the past and noticed a very interesting pattern.. When I'm feeling angry, I use lots and lots of "reds".. If I'm sad, the animals all tend to be black.. Guess it's easy to detect my moods from that - huh? (My coloring books of "choice" - that I've had for years - are all "Critter Sitters".. Remember them?)

Recently I've been reading up a storm - usually at least 2 books a day - and that is very, very calming.. It probably helps that quite a few of the books are Amish fiction - it's such a peaceful, simple setting..:goodvibes

what a sweet little girl! if she's bored when she gets through with the laundry, there's plenty of chores to be done at my house! :thumbsup2 LOL

DGD decided she wanted corn muffins as her "treat", so we made them using my "Sweet Corn Muffin" recipe.. She loves those - as do all of the kids up here.. Normally I make a double batch (24) and if I'm very, very lucky, I get one for myself.. :rotfl:

My goodness that is such a sweet thing to do. How old is she? About the braces, my 11 yr. old DD just got full braces. It helps to cut whatever food she eats into pieces rather than taking bites out of food. It even helps with softer foods.

I can see where she gets her kind sweet nature from. I can see why you are so proud of her! Hope her mouth doesn't stay sore for long. :upsidedow

You know, my kids would think corn muffins are DA BOMB. Your granddaughter sounds like a lovely girl. I hope you have a wonderful visit!

C.Ann your granddaughter is a sweetie. :goodvibes

Would you mind sharing your corn muffin recipe please? I just love corn muffins the only kind of muffin I will eat.

Awww, she is a sweety.

My Kelsea has been doing my laundry for me for the last 3 years because of my nerve damage. I am still not totally better yet, I can't carry laundry up the stairs or carry anything heavy, yet. But she wouldn't volunteer to do laundry unless she had no clothes to wear.

I'd like that recipe too. :)
