My Delta flights went crazy -UPDATE

I was scheduled to fly Delta from Rio, on the 26th of Nov. I decided to call the airline today to see if my flights were ok. Ouch! They weren't. They have cut our daily flights to 3 times a week, and guess what, both my departure flight and my return flight don't exist anymore. I managed to book a departing flight to Sunday 25th, with ease. But my return flight is a BIG problem. I was scheduled to fly on tuesday 11th. They have a flight on monday, but it is crowded. The thursday flight is also crowded. They only have vacancies on the sat. flight. Now I am on vacations (45 day vacation, mind you), have lots of flexibility with my dates. My only problem will be re-budgeting part of my trip to be able to afford a longer stay. I will certainly be bothering my DU travel agent again. Now, let's just hope that nothing else changes in the meanwhile.

UPDATE: my mom always says that when life gives you lemons, it is time to make lemonade. Well, I managed to start making mine I grabbed a room at PBH for my last 3 nights, with the special promotion rate. This way, i get to know IOA too. I am sure thing will work out in the end.

I've had a lot of switching around of flights as well, Livia, but nothing quite as serious as yours (mine were only delayed a few hours). Here's hoping that everything goes well for you from here on out!

Yikes Livia! I hope you are able to make it all work out for you.

Get this: When I go online, some parts of my trip don't exist, or they go between two different cities now. But when I called United she quoted me the changes to make on my tickets....and there was NO change.

I'm waiting a little while, then I'm calling back again!!!

Tia: I think all planes scheduled must be checked and rechecked several times nowadays. I am only glad that I had the idea of calling the airline today. It might have been really hard to get a return flight if I had waited longer.
Now I really hope son#1 passes his exams and is able to join me there.

Delta called me with changes to my flights for DIS-Con too. Nothing major though. I actually get to stay in WDW for an extra 2 hours on the day going home. Hope it all works out for you.

Both my flights were changed.

I am now getting to MCO two hours earlier.

And getting home 2 hours earlier.


Not bad at all... just if my flight to MCO gets canceled now I either have to leave at 9am... or 8pm. Ick on both accounts.

I am not on Delta- but they moved my flight home two hours earlier- I hope that is the last change.

I am like Robin 2 hours earlier in and 2 hours earlier out but works ok for us.

Delta Express reduced their outbound flights to Orlando from Newark to 2 per day. We were on the 9AM but got cancelled. They put us on the 7AM which was too early, so I elected to go down the Tuesday before DISCON at 2:10PM and got the Grovsnor Resort for $39+ for one night. I also changed the return flight to come back on Dec 5th at 5:45PM. There were no change fees as Delta initiated the cancelled flights. I will still keep watching..
