So it might be to late for me to change and really get what I want, but I need some FB on this because I have completely gone way over on my TS--BUT, these bigger TS items are what we really would like to do--any suggestion to "curb" my Dining enthusiasm??

9 Table side service credits and we have ADR's for this so far for Christmas Vacation:

1)Ohana - 1
2)Crystal Palace-1
3)Boma-1
4)Le Cellier-1
5)Hoop De Do-2
6)1900 Park Fair-1
7)California Grill (Xmas Day)-2
8)Hollywood for Fantasmic package-1
9) Nothing as of yet- Last Night--Obviously OOP

Total is 10 TS (1 over) and the last night is still open.
Am I crazy or is there still hope for me yet??? We are trying to eat as healthy as possible including CS. Any siggestions

I don't kn ow what to tell you, I love the places you have chosen. Maybe nix the Hoop Dee Doo one. I've heard horrible things about the food from my cousin and her kids. And they aren't picky eaters at all!

You might just pick where you want to go the last night...and then look over the menus and decide which is the least expensive and do OOP for that one. Looking at the 8 you've chosen so far, the cheapest would be one of the character breakfasts...they run $19 per person, but everything else even looking at the cheapest entree it's more than $19. The character DINNERS are more than $19, I think they're in the $28-30 range.

Or...choose one night and go off-site if you have a vehicle to get you around. Or try whatever is at your resort. Or....don't do a TS one night....pick one of the CS's that appeal to your family. Some of them sound just as nice as some of the TS's to my family.

How much do you really mind being over on your TS? We ran the numbers for our Dec trip and found that if we stay on site, the dining plan would be the most cost effective option even though we'll have 4 or 5 OOP table service meals (over 12 days). We'd have enough CS to use for all the rest of our meals, likely with some left over, and we'd probably spend more than a few snack credits on candy to bring home for the kids' friends. Since we were/are undecided about where we're staying, I planned and made my ADRs without thinking about the number of credits, and if we end up on site (waiting on codes) we'll just use the dining plan for the most expensive TS meals and pay for the cheaper meals (The Plaza, Ohana breakfast) and the meals where we wont want the full appetizer-entree-dessert (ESPN Club, Beaches & Cream) out of pocket. But for us, dining is a integral part of our vacation experience - living in a small town with no good restaurants has really made us appreciate a variety of good meals when we travel. :rotfl:

Thanks everyone! Maybe it isn't that crazy after all--I just read so much on here about how people end up having credits left over and here I am with not enough:eek: I think we will just do whatever on the last night and not worry so much about it. We are doing the Hoop De vu --not for the food but for the show...I thought the kids would love it! I have a few CS left over because when we do the Fantasmic dinner will be early as well as HDVR at about 4:30-5 and so it will just be snacks that day.
I won't worry so much, I just though maybe someone had better Ideas and I have gotten a few here--I shouldn't over think it:santa: I can't wait to go.

We shared a lot of our counter service meals, and that actually made them go faster - if we'd waited until we were hungry enough to each have a meal, we'd never have used them. None of us usually eat a full breakfast, but 2 breakfasts was perfect for the 5 of us on the days we felt like having something in the morning. In the heat of the day, we often wouldn't feel like a real lunch, but a couple of shared meals was perfect. And cold meals like salads or sandwiches from the resort food court made great late night snacks for DH & I, since we're both night owls and we're often awake for 6-7 hours past dinner. We only had a couple leftover CS meals on the last day, and we used those for cheese & fruit plates to snack on while we waited for our ME pickup and our flight home.

It is not crazy at all. We are going for 9 nights and planning 10 TS meals. We'll probably pay for the last one partially OOP because my daughter and I frequently share. :goodvibes (Actually we almost always share, but we plan on being more adventurous on the DDP.)
