MY DD asks.."are you Gay",LOL

While on the phone today with my mother she told me that my 13 YO DD, a couple weeks ago, asked her if she(my mother) was gay o..SHe also said DD asked her if she was a eunich ..My mother had calmly answered the questions but was surprised my DD had asked.
When my DD came home from school I asked her about the conversation and she was dumbfounded.. My mother is hard of hearing and uses a hearing Aide. They had been watching a movie with a Eunich in it and my DD did not know what one was. She thought maybe it was another way to say homosexual, so she asked my mother "are Eunuchs gay? .Which my mother heard as are you gay? She than asked ,What's a eunich,which my mother heard as Are you a Eunich?
I can just picture my 73 year old mother explaining what a Eunich is to my DD.

That's funny! My mom does that a lot too. What I hate is when I misunderstand something. Too many rock concerts in the 80's.

Oh we get conversations like that a LOT around our house. My DH and my DD both having hearing problems, so needless to say there a quite a few misunderstood conversations.
Well at least I haven't had to explain eunich....

I was over my cousin's house for easter and my cousins, aunt, my parents and brother and sister were there. My dad was going to take a picture so he said "Say cheese" And me and my cousin chouted "Vehical!" Because we just watched a funny movie that pronouced the word funny. And my grandmother's said
" Beautiful?"
