What a day! It starts out with a surprise call from my son's father. DS is 6 and his father has seen him twice...once at 6 weeks, once at 5 yrs...total time 20 minutes. I called a few weeks ago and asked if he might get DS some shoes for school, well he calls this morning as we're on our way out the door, appartently he forgot my address and was driving up and down the street. So....SURPRISE son, this is you dad (he doesn't really remember last years 10 minutes visit  ) We get about another 10 minutes out of him (and $100 whoopie!) THEN on the way to drop DS off at my stepmom's for the day, I find out about that she leaves him alone during the day with my 12 yr old emotionaly disturbed half sister who has been threatening him for weeks not to tell on her that she swears all the time, and he's been scared to death. Unfortunatly this was my only choice for "child care" for the last month, until school starts....Have a lovely talk with step mom............THEN I get a call at work that my mom's being rushed to the hospital. She has had 2 back surgerys since May, one last week. She had a really bad headache and her neck was getting stiff, so I meet her and stepdad at the hospital and her whiteblood cell count is extremely high, they thought she might have contracted menengitis during her hospital stay last week....they do the spinal tap (through the inscision from last week's surgery...) and so far they said it's negative, but they have to do something with cultures from the spinal fluid to know for sure. They kept her in the hospital since her headache is still unberable, and they have her all medicated and incoherent............UGH! I can't wait for tomorrow, it has to be better that today.

Thanks for letting me get that all out...........

Jaimee

Wow, Jaimee, sorry you had such a rough day. I call it the "roller coaster of life" - some days are up, some days are down. Hang in there, because the good days always eventually come. Prayers and Pixie Dust to you, your adorable son, and your Mom.

What a day! Wow!

Here's a wish and a prayer they find out quickly what's up with your mom and she has a quick, complete recovery.

So sorry to read that, Jamiee, what a bummer for Isaiah, and you too. Hope your mom feels better soon, and things go smoothly for Isaiah. UGH, what a day!
