My daughter is terrified of all the characters except the princesses. Her 4th birthday will be the day we arrive at disney. I made reservations for her at the bippity boppity boutique and then we were going to take her to rainforest cafe for dinner. Well we drove an hour to the Rainforest near us so we could join the safari club and have lunch while we were at it. My daughter thought the place was great until we were seated and I told her the gorilla that was nearby might make noise and move a little. Well that was it she screamed she didn't want to eat there continuously until we conceeded and left before the waitress had even visited our table! :rolleyes2 So I don't plan to torture her on her birthday at Disney. Any ideas where we could eat that would be fun for her birthday that has absolutely nothing scary whatsoever associated with it? :guilty: I kind of liked that we were going to eat at Downtown Disney because we were already there for Bippity Bopitty Boutique. I don't want any place that is in a park because we don't want to waste a days admission. Thanks for your help! :clown:

At first I was thinking the Cinderella dinner at the Grand Floridian, but since she doesn't like characters and since the mice are there I guess that won't work. All of the monorail resorts have good restaurants--Whispering Canyon might be fun.

I was going to say Whispering Canyon too. No characters, but alot of fun for the kids and the grownups.

First with the new MYW tixs an extra day may not cost that much more for you. That would open plenty of possiblities. I also think 1900 Park Faire would work my 3yo is no fan to the characters and was fine as long as they were on the other side of the table. She also did not like the Gorillias.

I think that WCC might be fun or even Ohana's(they have the coconut rolling and hula-hooping she might like)! Those would at least be fun for her to celebrate at! Just be sure to give yourself enough time to get there are The Boutique!

Thanks maybe I'll book Whispering Canyon. I think we may have park access that day since its only $1 more! I thought about the castle with the Ferry Godmother but my daughter has done the castle a few times and I think she'd be disappointed not to see the princesses there. Also thought of Storybook dinner in Epcot. We're pretty picky eater though so I think we'd be eatting off the childrens table. Anyone have experience with that? Any other ideas? Hows Coral Reef for a kids birthday? I also thought of Sci Fi but we have a 16 month old too and I don't think they are really set up for highchairs there. :confused3

They do have high chairs at Sci-Fi, but if your DD is afraid of characters and RFC gorillas...how will she be with the sci-fi monsters and screaming people on the big drive-in movie screen? (Just something to consider.)

How about CRT for dinner? It's pricey, but she might enjoy being inside the castle. I know all the princesses aren't there for dinner though.

I ended up booking Princess Storybook dinner. I couldn't get in until 7:55 which is late with the little ones but I'll try back maybe something earlier will open up  Thanks!

I want to throw my vote in for Ohana's too at the Poly. Great place for the kids, they have coconut races, hula hoop contests and hula dancing. the only scary thing is the woman who sings the birthday song out of key :lmao:

I would say 'Ohana as well, and if you can book it so she sees Wishes through the window, fun and fireworks!

My kids love Ohanas but they like all of the places your DD does not so I guess that would not be a great indicator. My kids love 50s PTC in MGM they like watching the old time TV shows. ( no characters and nothing scary there.) They also like the Coral Reef another place that has nothing scary.

Ohana seems like a great place for kids. What about Chef Mickeys? Is she afraid of Disney characters like mickey?

Your daughter will LOVE the princess dinner in Norway. My DH and I have long believed this restaurant to be one of Epcot's best-kept secrets. Awesome food, even though they have changed the way it is served now. My 2 daughters still talk about our dinner there last year - they loved seeing 5 different princesses (including Cinderella) one after the other. We got terrific pictures too. They mostly ate cold cuts off the cold bar (like a salad bar), but I believe one had a corn dog for her meal as well. The adult menu is a little confusing - lots of Norwegian words - but ask your server, they are usually happy to explain their native food, and we have never been disappointed there. Do NOT miss the dessert - our favorite anywhere in the World!

BTW, if your daughter didn't like Rainforest (been there - one of mine was terrified of that place), you might not want to do Whispering Canyon yet - your child should be pretty adventurous to enjoy that place, and not mind VERY loud restaurants! My kids had a lot of fun there, but there were some younger ones crying.

Also, I know that time is late, but you will probably finish dinner just in time to go outside and watch Illuminations - we did last year, and it was a perfect end to the evening! Have fun!

I would do 1900 Park Fare. It is at GF so no park admission needed. Cindy was very nice and the mice are cute in a non-threatening kind of way. Our DD loved it!
My DD hates rainforest cafe, even at almost 6 she refuses to go there. Its too loud for her. She hates it when all the animals make noises!
