I just received the best news in a long time. My daughter was diagnosed in early September with non-hodgkins lymphoma. It was in early stage 2 and located in her neck and behind her breastbone. She has had three rounds of chemotherapy with 3 more to go. Today she had her pet scan and the tumors have all disappeared. She is now in remission!!!

It makes the nastiness of the chemo now seem so much less horrible. My daughter now understands why I told her to not think of it as poison, think about it as life. I know that remission in her case is 60-40, but I am breathing a sigh of relief for now. We will be celebrating life this weekend!

That is great news! My sister also received good news with her pet scan last week (breast cancer), so I know what you mean about celebrating life!

Hope you all have a terrific weekend!

Wonderful news for you all and best wishes for your daughter during the rest of her treatment.

Cheers
Trish

I know exactly how you feel mommy ....and celebrate , because this is something to celebrate.
My daughter was diagnosed with osteosarcoma ( bone cancer last year ) and she too went through a horrible year of horrible chemo.
Fortunately she is done with the treatment and in remission now , we just got the last results last week and she is clear too.
BTW my friend's daughter was also diagnosed with AML and she is doing fine now and in remission for the last 1.5 years.

This has definitely been a rollercoaster ride. When you hear "malignant" it literally takes your breath away. All I could think, was this is not supposed to happen to our babies. Then we decided that cancer was not going to win. We cried together, laughed together, and loved each other.

My daughter has been so strong through all of this. I hope your daughter and her friend continue to win their battle.

That is great news! Thanks for sharing. I too have a child with cancer who is in remission and know exactly how you feel. Rejoice! I will keep you all in my prayers.

I just finished a year of breast cancer treatment and also had a PET scan. The all clear report is a GREAT thing! I am happy for her and your family. God Bless!
