for the Honor's trip to Spain. It was for 7 weeks this summer. She was the only one from her school not chosen. She said her interview was horrible. She doesn't normally get nervous over anything, but the interviewer scared her to death.
She teaches 3rd graders spanish and she said at the interview she forgot everything. So she fully expected this. She's disappointed, but she's okay. She's doing a musical as school right now so she hasn't had time to be too disappointed.
But you know what, after watching the news all morning, I'm relieved she isn't going.
I'm relieved I don't have to be scared to death that she's over there if something happens.
I'm relieved the decision is out of my hands. If something were to happen, how would I tell her it's okay to go, how could I send her, how would I tell her she couldn't? I'm breathing a guilty sigh of relief.
I'm not all together certain she won't join the military once she turns 18. How do parents do this, how do you let go?
